RT @McClain_on_NFL: Keels said nothing would be offcial until Tuesday. That means they have a deal, but Bodden hasn't signed yet.

    I told you.

I love the team but hate the front office.

They are doing a disservice to the fans and team. You don't think Ryans, AJ and co are asking each other WTF the team is doing?

It's so bad sometimes it's funny but still sad. God Help us.

Its not like we are a bottom tier team here...I think AJ and Ryans are looking forward to next season. I also think DeMeco sees more $$$ in his future with every free agent we dont sign this season.

Well, it's a shame Bodden won't become a Texan. This puts drafting a CB back on the high priority list.

I wonder if the Texans are high enough on McCain to have him start in Dunta's old spot. He played pretty well in the nickle spot the last few games of the season.

All this because we let a CB, who had a mediocre season at best, walk? Ryans, OD, and Dunta were all disappointed with not receiving new contracts last season, but who was the only one that sat training camp out? If we fail to resign DeMeco and OD, then I'll agree with every word you're saying. But we're not even a week into FA and people are acting like it's the end of the world.

But exactly what moves should the Texans have made this offseason that would make you happy (other than the obvious)?

Franchise Dunta and trade him for SOMETHING.

The Falcons inquired last season about trading for him.

You could have got an extra draft pick and something. Now we get NOTHING.

Resign Ryans and stop being ***** to him. He's earned his money and they even risked another team taking him away for some picks. They are lucky if someone doesn't just snatch him away.

Aggressively talk to free agents. Make it look like you at least give a **** about improving your mediocre franchise. That would give other FA the impression that you are trying to turn the corner.

I can understand OD though I don't agree with it, by why they hell are you not locking up Ryans?

Stop being cheap and just do it.

As of right now, we stand to get a 3rd round compensary pick in 2011 if we dont sign any free agents of equal or greater value

In what is deemed a weak free agent class, it's been 4 days since free agency started and we've have 2 come in for visits

True. But you're also taking a risk by placing the franchise tag on Dunta again. Let's say we did, a team that would want to trade for him would have to give up picks AND have to pay him a long term deal. If there isn't a team willing to trade for him, you're stuck paying Dunta another $10M+ for just one season.

It's called "negotiating," every single team does it. I'll agree with you 100% if we don't make a deal, but this type of negotiating happens all the time in the NFL.

Also, can you even tell me when the last time a player who received the highest tender was taken by another team? I can tell you that it almost never happens and the Texans' smartest move so far this offseason was placing the highest tender on DeMeco and OD.

We can resume this argument if a deal isn't made, but until then, you're almost complaining about nothing.

Last news I heard, Bodden was brought in for a visit and was in town for 2 days. I'm pretty sure we were serious about trying to bring sign him, but what we don't know is how serious Bodden was about signing with us.

And like I said, we are not even a week into FA. Give it some time, you are completely overreacting right now.

Lets just pull a 2009 New Orleans Saints move and sign Darren Sharper followed by drafting FS/Corner Earl Thomas or Kyle Wilson in the 1st

His agent said that nothing its official yet, and nothing until tomorrow as earliest, so he is still thinking, he is still in houston, so I dont know what will happen.
