He only just threw for the sixth-most yards in NFL history with a QB rating around 100, top five in the league. Yeah, so overpaid.
wait a minute. a team failing to make the playoffs = overpaid qb ?? back to logic 101 for you, buster. or perhaps 4th grade reading/comprehension?
Your argument about Matt Schaub being overpaid will be valid until the Texans reach the playoffs? Really? So, you are telling me, that if some other team is willing to pay him the same amount of money, unless they make the playoffs, they will be paying him to much, but if they make the playoffs, it would be fine. Matt Schaub is making what the market says he should make. Do you think the team would be better if they pay for a QB like Leinhart? Come on man, use your noodle.
not really the Matt Schaub deal. I took another look a salaries and changed my mind. It's fair. not a steal but not overpaid.
Quarterback is the most important and the most valued player in all of sports. You don't find many "steals" at QB. And if you do, they aren't going to be a steal for long.
We swapped first round picks and gave up 2 second rounders for schaub. At that time, one could say the Texans overpaid for matt. Looking back, it was a GUTSY move by the texans and great evaluation of talent and guess what... it paid off. Matt finished as one of the best qbs this season. We got a steal of a deal and a leader that can make plays. Anyways, I'm glad they at least made a good offer to Bodden. I think now we offer something to cleveland for their DT. With good line play and the improvement of Barwin, reekohtown and myself can line up at the cornerback postions, in press coverage of course.
i've tried to rep donkey and donny multiple times in this thread and the rep nazi hasn't allowed me to even once.
wait, you mean the Texans front office made a gutsy move in free agency/trade? I thought that didn't happen! I thought they only went for the scrap heap! (not directed at you) People just enjoy remembering the failure to sign a big name that goes elsewhere. But no one remembers a big move that paid off. This was one that people chastised the franchise for. When it pays off, everyone just wants to complain about the lack of a Julius Peppers.. (And really, who are any of us to say that the Texans didn't put in a good faith effort on Peppers or Thomas Jones, only to realize that they weren't gonna work out here?)
