Amongst the LBs that are in the top 20 in tackles... Cushing is... 5th in tackles 2nd in sacks 1st in passes defended 1st in interceptions Forget about rookie of the year...the guy played as well as any linebacker in the NFL.
Who are the top candidates for DPOY? The usual suspects didnt have that stellar a year, or were injured.
My bad about Elvis, thought I heard he was a rookie early this year. I think he does have a better shot at DPOY over Cush though it's probably Woodson or Sharper. Revis doesn't have the stats, and if Aso never won it, Revis probably won't either.
Crap ya I forgot about Woodson. What a comeback he made the last couple of years. And Sharper must have energizer batteries in him. He just keeps going and going. Be nice to see Cushing get some play among those guys in the talk circles.
I agree that Revis probably won't win it, but he has been a better player then Woodson, who I think will win it. Revis is still 5th in interceptions, and is leading the league in passes defended, so his stats aren't terrible, he just didn't have the big TDs like Sharper, or the all around stats of Woodson.
I think Revis' biggest stake is that his play has been so integral in making them the best defense, and allows the Jets freedom to try out their stranger blitz packages. Sadly Woodson has the fat stats as well as being on the #2 overall defense, a bigger jump in the standings from the 08-09 season.
Talk about getting shafted. Schaub has him beat in almost every significant category, and both have the same record.
Schaub got screwed there...one of the 3 selected is definitely going to miss the probowl...Matty should have had it. Total BS.
Roethlisberger only got picked ahead of Schaub because of what he's doing compared to what previous Steelers quarterbacks have done, and I think that's BS. That said, I'm hopeful that Schaub will still get to play. And I love the fact that we have 4 players in the pro bowl!
