Yeah thats a shame because a defense having an edge because of hard hitters is part of the sport. I understand higher scoring games bring in the fans, but you cant reinvent the laws of physics and then hide behind player safety. Most of us played this sport you cant just stop on a dime and look to avoid contact -- THATS how you get hurt! Playing tough is not playing cheap especially when context is avoided for the sake of a quarterback, but then its not universally applied as we've seen here with CJ taking what should have been called "cheap shots" in consecutive games. Why would the Texans bench their best LB? Leonard is too injured, not worth the money. Even if Texans want him, move Perryman to bench.
That wasn't about "avoiding contact". Kareem Jackson launched, used the crown of his helmet as a weapon and hit Dobbs in the facemask. Not using the crown of the helmet as a weapon is NOT hard to do and doesn't require "reinventing the laws of physics". It would have been illegal if Dobbs was a RB. Kareem Jackson has completely lost his mind this season and should be kicked out of the NFL. Indeed there are plays where you wonder what the defender could do, but you chose a very poor example.
