I agree with that. However, AP is still the best rb in the game. Chris Johnson would look great in our zbs with his elite speed.
I seen some tweets and what not basically saying- Foster is a superstar RB but is a product of the ZBS, ... to that, sure the Kubiak regime will go down in history for that scheme success that apparently no one else does as well supposedly, but the mystique of the ZBS is so overrated. It starts with blocking, but Arian has legend vision and cuts/agility that no other 230 pound RB today can match. Those attributes would help him be successful anywhere.
List is a joke. Foster should be leaps and bounds ahead of almost ALL RB's in the league Not Named AP
If I'm wrong, and AJ does make the list (top 20 at this point, which is ridiculous) - I'll pay up like a man. But I will say it right now: AJ being ranked ahead of Foster (and Foster only being 25th) is a shamockery of epic proportions. And - again, I'll pay up - but if I had known the list was compiled by a cadre of goof-balls who all went brain-dead in 2008, I never would have opened my big (virtual) mouth. AJ is firmly 4th on our own offensive pecking order... and they're going to put him in the top 20 as our best player?...
Watt is not there, when they showed Cam Newton (at no.40), they said he was the last rookie to be revealed. the only rookies to be on the list are: A.J Green Von Miller Cam Newton
Well, a season-ending injury to which player LEAST affect our chances to contend? Schaub Foster Brown Andre At this moment, it seems Andre is the least important of those 4. Perhaps emergence of Tate and/or Yates may change this in the future, but at this moment AJ seems like #4.
I get the logic, but I'm not sure it's that cut and dry. In the playoff game vs Baltimore 8 of Yates' 17 completions were to Dre, as well as 111 of his 184 passing yards. There would have been absolutely no passing attack if #80 wasn’t on the field. Without him, the game wouldn’t have even been close. Now don’t get me wrong… Foster’s performance in that game was, IMO, one of the best playoff performances in Houston sports history. After all, he had the 2nd most rec. with 5 and that amazing one hand grab in crunch time. My point is simply that whenever the Texans play the big boys, Andre Johnson is going to be essential to the team’s success. Just as much as the three guys listed above.
If he's 100% healthy, AJ is obviously a valuable weapon and the team is better with him. But they put up some big wins/numbers without him last year - they never could have done that 3-4 years ago. I don't want the opportunity to find out, but I now think the Texans would survive without Andre Johnson. Foster is a better weapon; Brown and Schaub are more important; and they have a slew of guys who can make plays in Andre's absence. Plus, a better defense, which takes pressure off the offense considerably.
Sure, it's debatable of course. And I don't dispute that it's possible AJ is more important that one or more of Schaub/Foster/Brown. But the poster I responded to seems to think AJ can't possibly be 4th. I simply wanted to convey the assertion isn't absurd at all. An absurd assertion would be something like TJ Yates is a better QB than Schaub that was running rampant last season. And FWIW, I feel if the Texans had Schaub in the Baltimore game instead of AJ, we would've won.
I hope you're right, and I too would rather not have to find out. But, it's undeniable the effect that #80 has on opposing defenses when he's on the field. I don't think the organization is looking to just 'survive' this season. And if the Super Bowl is thier goal, they ain't gettin there without huge contributions from Shaub, Dre, Foster, and the D. IMO, if you take one of those away last season's success is the ceiling for this team.
