Nothing particularly wrong with that - McCown's problem is that he had no experience whatsoever in coaching. Cinci's whole coaching staff was inexperienced when hired. The HC was a 35yr old QB coach. Their OC and DC had never been in those roles either. As long as you find smart, innovative people and let them grow together, there's nothing wrong with it.
My personal opinion is that he'll fetch $20mil+ a year. That's too much for a team needing too much, in my opinion, and also could lull you into a false sense of QB security, which he won't provide. Essentially, you need to start from the bottom - a rookie, this year or next. If we sign a QB, I hope it's a Jacoby Brissett type guy.
