    This.

As long as we continue to have inferior defensive talent, it doesn't matter who coaches. I'll say it again -- Frank Bush is not a bad coach. Last year, our defense was better than it had been since the Capers 2004 season. Then we ask Frank Bush to run with a bunch of inexperienced corners, an over-aged free safety, and a strong safety that can't cover, and this happens.

If our defense went from 13th to 32nd by merely losing Dunta and Demeco, then our coaches deserved to be fired. That drop-off is inexcusable, especially based on *how* we lost games. The Patriots D isn't great either, but they don't make stupid mistakes (or lose games in the final minute!) and they actually cause turnovers, despite giving up tons of yards and points.

Yeah, I don't mean to completely admonish Bush from blame. We shouldn't have been historically bad. Talent did not seem to develop under Bush, and that's a problem.

But you cut your best corner (albeit overpaid now), and your only other veteran on the roster in Reeves, (albeit overpaid and not that good, but still a vet), and you're asking for disaster.

Then not to bring in one veteran body at all to even have the option to put some experience back there, and instead rolling with 4 inexperienced guys to hold it down back there at the hardest position in football.

Funny how they threw those fired guys basically under the bus. Someone should ask McNair; you said Kubiak didn't get worse in a year and how no one said before this year he was a bad coach so he didnt magically get worse in a year, he got better.(Despite that being absolutely false) However, Mr. McNair, are you telling me that after a year Frank Bush got worse as a coach where they had a 13th ranked D(in terms of y/g) and 17th ranked(in points/g) the year before?

"Well uhhh, the secondary coaches said and thought we could go young and get by with it!"

Who is running this team again Bob? The position coaches or that guy named Kubiak?

Talent also did not develop under Bush's predecessors.

There are two possibilities. Either the Texans drafted crap talent which would never amount to much here or anywhere, or the Texans can not develop defensive players.

Wade Philips if he lives up to his billing should be able to develop those players that he can and should be able to draft better talent. If Wade lasts two years, it will be interesting to see who comes and goes player-wise.

Wade also mentioned that he will build his scheme around what the current set of players can do. I suspect that the scheme will not be able to hide crap talent all that well. A better schemed pass rush might hide our corners deficiencies a bit but still should be exploitable. In the end, Wade has got to get the corners to develop or will have to replace them with better talent.

Well, at least it's an incredibly weak connection, since he never made the team.

Repped! He almost tripped over himself falling into line behind Bottom-Line Bob on this latest Texans' episode. I got a huge chuckle out of listening to him this week on 610 where he dismissed the latest Wade Phillips crash and burn as an "aberration". I'll bet he already has his columns done for next year when Bob names Wade as Texans' head coach no. 3 on how that is a great hire because not only does Wade have previous head coaching experience but he has also won a playoff game (blah blah blah).

It's not talent or coaching.....it's talent and coaching.

All sides have been a failure. Only thing in common is that Kubiak brought everyone on board, directly or indirectly.

Unqualified and underqualified staff members "coaching" overwhelmed DB draft picks with a LB coach trying to call the defensive schemes....trainwreck.

Man-2 coverage against the Jets. Unbelievable. Gibbs, Bush, and the rest should have been given a Code Red for that.
