everyone has stated how great this guy is but...why aren't there more soundbites or quotes on how well he can coach?

The plan has never been to convince Watson to stay. They are going to form a culture in a rebuild. Culley is probably very well respected as a leader and person. He's not here to lead the team to a Trophy. He's here to raise boys into men so Josh can coach them in 2 years.

Couldn't a film session of Remember the Titans, Dead Poets Society and the Might Ducks trilogy accomplish the same feat?

Yeah it's crazy that they are setting up everything to hand the team over to McCown in a couple of years. What has he done to deserve it?

This is close even tho it doesn't specify coaching. The learning he is referring to might be about how to change a tire

Great news. We've got him locked up for 5 years people! He'll be 70 years old by the time that contract ends and NOBODY will be able to take him away from us!

    Except for death maybe...

your fault for still being a fan of the Texans. There is no "us" unless you are still a fan.

It sure is looking like even David Culley isn't getting to choose his staff.

No coach worth a **** would work under those circumstances.

Probably why they went with the least qualified.

Pancakes was on Sportsradio 610 just now and he insisted that Culley has the authority to make his own assistant coaching hires. Which was BS because in the next breath Pancakes did admit that Tim Kelly was forced on Culley in the (slim) hope it would appeal to Watson. He also asserted that Culley hasn't nade a decision yet on who the new DC will be even though Lovie Smith is in Houston right now. Now Cal & Co are "hoping" that things with Watson will cool down after he's had a chance to meet with Culley one-on-one (probably to get his FCA pitch). Of course, that will only happen if Watson accepts such a meeting which so far hasn't happened as he's not talking to the organization. Also, it was Watson's agent who notified the Texans several weeks ago that Deshaun wanted out. The hiring of Culley did nothing to change that. It was unnamed sources who "leaked" this to Adam Schefter over the weekend. They have until the NFL draft or until training camp to fix this or trade Watson. The longer they wait, offers will become less attractive.

Yes, he should be upset at the 10th team he bombed his interview with which decided not to hire him.

Educated guess here... this guy sucks at interviews.

Texans just announced that Pep Hamilton will be the new QB coach. Now just what does this mean for Tim Kelly?
