They have the money to re-sign him. But they may be better off moving Newton inside and drafting a tackle. Also an opportunity to groom Browns replacement.
Anything over $8M would make him the highest paid OG in the league. Good for Brooks if that is true, he played really well last season and was hoping we could resign him. Think the Texans could possibly match though, we got pretty good play from Brooks and Jones for almost nothing the past 2 seasons so it was just a matter of time, we are also getting very good value in Duane Brown (if healthy) and XSF will still be on his rookie deal for the next 2 seasons. Resigning Brooks could at least give you continuity at both tackles and guard positions (assuming XSF can be a consistent starter) for at least the next 2 seasons. Give Mancz a shot at C or draft one and you could have a pretty stable line for a few seasons.
