You guys haven't realized yet that this is Caserio's MO? It's how he learned in New England. The Patriots hardly ever spend money in free agency. Since Caserio got here, he has done the same. He's also been huge into one and two year deals. I think some assumed it was because we were in a rebuild, both from a roster standpoint and an image standpoint. At this point though, it's who he is. Not sure why anybody is surprised by that. I think I've mentioned this before when people comment about our cap space. If this is ever going to change, I think next year would be the year once we've had a year under a new exciting coach, and possibly secured our quarterback. However, the fact that we are trying to trade LT instead of signing him to a huge contract might say otherwise.
Chad is being a bit disingenuous. The Texan deals are 1-2 years and Bears are 3-4 years. We're filling in depth and they're swinging for the fences. Will be interesting to assess in 2 years who chose the best path.
Bet DW4 told him he knew a place in Cleveland where he could get a "massage".... That deal could easily have been matched in Htown and he is from Alief... Only way to explain it - Quote from me / irrational Rockets / Texans / Astros fan
“Just give Nicky a break. He had no first/second round picks.” (…selects guy coming off lisfranc injury and a guard) “Just give Nicky a break. He had no cap room. Wait until he has cap room!” (…continues bargain basement shopping) DeMeco can only provide so much enthusiasm/excitement. (I’m pretty sure they will, we’ll see but) Thank God they’re drafting a QB. Otherwise, this would be more of the same. STD. Smart, tough, dependable. Hard workers. Come in, play a role, guaranteed nothing, ready to compete, put the team above themselves. Just taking it one day at a time, not getting ahead of ourselves John. Lotta respect for Brandin and Laremy. Good guys, great players, have had good conversations with those guys. Gonna do what’s in the best interest of the Texans.
I remember how pissed everyone was when Philly jumped us to get Dillard(Tytus has been significantly better)
Quality over quantity. Ryans/Caserio could've filled these FA signings with street FA's, except for Ridgeway. They've been doing things the way that you suggest. Look where they are at. It's past time to operate differently. BTW, Forbes is spot on.
These are the guys Ryans want on his roster. Do you think Ryans wasn't the main voice in getting Ridgeway/Winovich to Kirby?
