He is the only bright side of our line play. Is doing so despite what must be the worst coaching in the universe (thanks mike devlin). Cut out the stupid false starts. Pass protection is elite and he’s still growing. cant judge the run blocking fully do to cement shoes Johnson. his combination of size, skills, age, and passion put him in the discussion for best at a minimum
RG still sucks and not too high on our C but definitely improved as the season has gone along. You wonder what these guys do in training camp every year since they always start so slow. Didn't help this year since there was no real training camp.
He's in the elite conversation, but best LT is debatable, and highest paid of all time? Well he can thank OBrien for that one! Im happy to see he's regained cadence discipline - jumping off sides all the time was a bad look for him.
crazy that Father Time Duane Brown is still rocking a 84.1 PFF grade. Laremy is "better" at 85.9 and has yet to relinquish a sack. Duane makes 10Ms less too, but he is on the other side of the apex but pretty impressive for a 35 year old.
The rams LT Whitworth is scoring higher at an even older age. Tunsil is like top4 as far as overall pff grade goes. Trent was higher and I cant remember the other.
I swear man , Bill O’Brien acted like this dude was going to do something other than block. Massive overpay. Denver just locked up their LT for less. O’Brien should never work in the NFL again. What an effin idiot.
Wait.... he wanted a $200,000 watch because he'd get more respect? He should get more respect for donating $250,000 to COVID relief.
Laremy Tunsil is not that good in the run game. He's a phenomenal pass blocker, but he's soft in the run game.I guess if pass blocking was the main reason for bringing him in and paying him all that money then he's earning it, but it would be nice to run to his side too. The last relevant metric I can find was an October release by PFF that stated Tunsil carried the best pass block rating at the time (89.8) but only the 29th best run block grade (68.6). On the other side Tytus Howard is not very good at pass blocking (this year at least) but he's really good at run blocking. This damn team is snake bit.
Injured or “injured?” Dude was supposed to miss a month instead has been out 9 weeks and there is no sign of him coming back. The trade and the contract have been criticized ad nauseam but we shouldn’t forget the poor decision to restructure the contract before the season by Caserio. Horrible cap management to restructure Tunsil, Mercilus and Shaq Lawson before the season to free up space this year but push dead money into next year.
