As skeptical as I am of Leinart... If Kubiak wants to bring him in and thinks he will fit in our system, then I'm all for it. I think he would fit in better with the Dallas Douchebagboys.
Yeah I'm kinda with you here. I just don't feel like ML is a football player, seems to be concerned with other things. I don't feel like he commands the respect of his team either. He has talent but does he have the heart and the mentality needed? Doubtful. I'm all for an upgrade at the backup QB position, just not sold on Leinart.
You make him sound like Carr but without the arm. Anyways, I would rather have some Booty. He's been with the Texans all summer and pre season and the last game he seems to be catching on fast. The reason why they are keeping the other dude as back up QB is because they don't want to show Mcnair that they blew his money on this guy.
@McClain_on_NFL Texans hope to sign Leinart and have him and Orlovsky playing behind Schaub. Leinart would be given a chance to eventually be the backup.
I'm all for Orlovsky not being the back up. But, Leinart? There have to be better available options out there. Trade a 6th round pick for Sage or something. Jeff Garcia doesn't have a job, right?
Sage was traded to the Giants last Friday, Manning's backup went from David Carr to Sage, I guess Dan O is next in a few years
I said it on another board but I'd rather see the Texans sign a guy like Pat White and groom him for a year or two. Im tired of seeing them go after the Orlovskys and Leinarts of the league...terrible!
Pat White is terrible. What makes you think Pat White is groomable any more than Leinart? You're just throwing a random dart at a board
610 just reported that Leinart signed a 1 year deal with Texans. Edit: John McClain came on and confirmed it. Edit to edit: Agrees to 1 year deal, not signed yet.
Good. He should easily beat out Dan. Plus I get to hear some Texans talk from the national boys for a day or two.
