I know there's nothing to be done, but having the tiebreaker based on strength of schedule is stupid. Texans have 3 teams in their division make the playoffs and are penalized for it? Teams with the same record should have a coin flip... or maybe do Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Agreed. Names that stand out for me ... Jonathan Stewart 23-253 with a TD vs S. Fla. At one point in the season both were at #2 in the Top 25. Ray Maualaga LB: 3 sacks, 1 int. Ridiculous physical specimen and exceptional quickness at LB. But, listed as MLB since we have 'Meco probably not. Ryan Clady: scouts say exceptional quickness and agility for an OL. Sam Baker: would be a strong, steady player at OL. Antoine Cason: Good option if Dunta potentially is to move to safety. Rashard Mendenhall: 17-155 2 TDs vs USC. Could opt to stay for senior yr but ... who knows. Last year everyone was saying ... Adrian Peterson, we went with Okoye. This upcoming draft is talent heavy at RB. So, though a potential dream pick it would seem illogical to take Stewart, though his exploits vs a very good defense (S. Florida) cannot be overlooked. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think though not a glamorous pick, the Texans must take an OL. Ryan Clady, Boise State or Sam Baker, USC look like good options. Because, if the line isn't fortified, our offense will have problems vs playoff caliber opponents and Schauby's career could be over before it began. Other options CB (Cason) or OLB (Dan Connor from Penn St). According to some, Connor was a better LB than Posluszny. Hmmm ... another intriguing prospect. Third option is trade down (depending how the draft progresses ...) if you can trade down and get the original player you wanted and pick up that extra second rounder, would work out very nicely for the Texans. If this doesn't happen in the second, definitely think the middle rounds (3-5) attempts will be made to garner extra picks.
