Cushing's interception was stupid for a strongside backer, dude is the definition of a football player

Mario is not putting up his usual sack numbers but he has never played as well against the run as he has this year.

Mario, Demeco, Cushing, and Amobi have the potential to be straight work animals this season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be a playoff team we need to make trades for dorsey and possibly shaun rogers.

Our defense is nothing special. Can we put up back to back great games? Doubt it. I want to be wrong though?

Mario needs to get some sacks. Cushing is a monster i hope hes here for a loooong time. Secondary is one of the worst in the league but anyone who watches us play should know that.

Hey , we all knew it was going to take time for them to get healthy and gel. There is serious talent across the board on the defensive side of the ball, the kind of talent a team can ride to the Super Bowl one day. (maybe sooner than most outside of Houston can fathom)

Mario - Potential MVP one day

DeMeco - Leader and future hall of famer

Cushing - It's early, but he has the potential to be one of the best.

Antonio who is a bigtime talent.

Amobi Okoye - I absolutely believe this KID is in the process of growing into a true monster of a man.

Dunta Robinson.....Very impressive on his comeback... That was a brutal injury, yet he's shown he can definitely still play a good corner. I wouldn't be shocked if he becomes an all pro safety one day in the tradition of Ronnie Lott and Rod Woodson. Robinson has that same nose for the ball.

And lets not forget Mr. Reeves........If he can stay out on the field the rest of the year it appears he might just begin to earn all that jack.

Pollard is the kind of player who thrives on what this D is about...hard hitting and aggressive.

I like the way we stepped up and shut down two of the league's best offenses on the road....

This is a special team..........We win 8 out of our last 10.

A few weeks ago, I heard someone say he's the best safety in Texans history. I laughed....then I thought about it for a minute. The sad thing is that it's probably true.

Everyone wrote him off because he was cut by the Chiefs, who are one of the worst teams in the league. Ever think the REASON the Chiefs are one of the worst teams in the league is because they're stupid enough to cut a guy like Pollard?

Like you, I'm not saying he's the 2nd coming of Ronnie Lott, but he's definitely an upgrade at the weakest position on the roster.

The thing I liked best about it was that he was smart enough to know that the game was over if he just went down and didn't try to take it to the house. Pretty heads up for a rookie. Of course, it didn't hurt that Ryans basically tackled him.

You're correct. Mario's shoulder is still bothering him. It bothers him enough that his workload has been reduced (he normally plays every snap). Kubiak confirmed that yesterday. He's expected to keep getting better but he's still not practicing. It definitely has had a noticeable effect on the pass rush -- he's not getting to the QB as effectively as he normally does.

I think our secondary is average, it is just that our lack of a quality pass rush was what made us look like absolute garbage in that department.

Now that we have a complete set of quality linebackers, solid experience but not too old safeties and some actual push from both DE positions most downs, they are all going to be looking pretty nice for the most part.

We still need a space eating DT, because in our current lineup, the only guy that has done even decently at that has been Okoye who is supposed to be one of our pass rush specialists.

I think the Texans are finally reading to turn the corner and become a winning team. I see us winning this one without too much difficultly.

    Texans 27
    49ers 17

I think D-Rob getting back in to the groove as well as Reeves has made our defense a bit better. Pollard was a great pickup for our run problems and has played pretty well thus far. I think the way our linebackinig core and the improvement of our d-line stopping the run has made us a good football team.

I saw the Pollard move as if the Texans arent going to tackle anyone, might as well put someone back there even though he sucks he'll get the occassional token hard hit. Didnt think it'd actually work helping boost the team's overall tackling mentality.

A possible small effect early on was thrusting Cushing right into the starting lineup after behing behind from missing a lot of preseason. He was a gamer but making some misplays the first few games. Now he's getting settled in. As is Jacque Reeves, Dunta, and hopefully Frank Bush. Wish Texans would start out the season cohesive.

I have a hard time believing that an offense like theirs is capable of beating us. Their passing game is pretty weak and although that is also the weak part of our defense, I don't see them scoring a lot of points. On offense, they seem to be able to sling the ball around on anyone, so I am not worried about scoring points.

As long as we protect the quarterback, we will be fine. Its obvious when given time to throw Schaub is an elite quarterback in the NFL. Weird saying that, but his stats support it.

It's refreshing to finally get that out of the quarterback. Currently #2 in passing yards, #1 in TDs, and #6 in passer rating. Not to mention the #1 fantasy quarterback ;)

I wonder how well he is doing as far as DROY. The only rookie I can think of thats doing as well is Laurinaitis. Mayo won last year with 128 tackles and a FF.

Cushing wins AFC defensive player of the week. Demeco and Cushing together may be the best 1-2 linebacking core in the league right now. Our defense will only get better. Reeves played good corner for us last year and showed some good signs last game. Can't wait to see them stuff the run against the 9'ers.

it's probably the greatest linebacker corps in the league.

it's probably the best defense since the 2001 ravens.

    you haven't seen nothin' yet.

their record doesn't tell the story...they're much better than their record.

    ;)
