We didn't need to franchise him, he is overpaid and overrated but what we did need to do is have a plan B ready, that didn't involve starting a rookie corner.
It's part of the Kubiak Template, if you will, of canned responses. Some other examples are: "Well, we didn't come ready to play this week and that's my fault." "We're just going to have to work through it and continue to improve with the guys we've got."
i don't care how overpaid he is. it's a huge season for a team with expectations in AN UNCAPPED YEAR!!! now if you're telling me he isn't good..that's one thing. it's something i'd disagree with, frankly. but you didn't save $10 million by not bringing back Dunta...because you still had to pay first round money to his replacement.
We don't care but EVERYONE already knew Bob/Rick/Gary cared. I would have been fine franchising him but I won't kill them for not doing it. 10 million for a slightly above average corner is TO MUCH. I will kill them for not having an alternate option ready to roll them minute he was let go. Bodden was given a look but it should have gone deeper then that. Drafting a corner was fine but bringing in another veteran some why some how should have been the move.
Doesn't look like so BUT Cat just posted in the Aso thread that Nixon and Salaam got released and wavied soooo it opens up a spot for someone?
Kawika Mitchell, come on down! I was actually scanning practice squad rosters this morning, to see if there was anyone we could poach. The only name I recognized was Graham Harrell of Texas Tech fame.
Honestly, I dont think there has ever been a team with these terrible numbers period. We are going to make history!
