Bob Allen, Barry Warner said they talked to Dreessen yesterday and Dreessen said he had yet to hear from the Texans. Could be nothing, could be something. He obviously though not of the level of Myers and Williams and those guys.

Crazy to think the Texans could have to replace 3/5 of their starting line.

On Mario, I expect his departure.

Wasn't there a statistic that was thrown around last offseason, when they let Leach walk, that indicated the fullback was only in on 30% of their offensive plays? If that's true, then I absolutely believe the FO thinks the position is unimportant relative to the rest of the positions on offense.

Yeah, most of the time they run a double-TE single-back set.

The Vickers signing was hyped more than it should have been because of a YouTube video of him yelling at Ray Lewis, but other than that, he didn't do much of anything last year.

Why not cut Casey instead? Oh yeah, you guys love him, y'all are gonna cry now that I even mentioned it. Sorry.

Oooh, or Cushing. I bet Cush would have some monster collisions playing FB on select downs.

Casey can't possibly be making that much money.

This does supr me. Vickers really seemed to do a good job toward the end of the season, and he's not paid much. Casey was serviceable at FB, but he never looked like anything but a tight end playing out of position.

Two things to consider: 1) Vickers was signed, IIRC, after final cuts last year - meaning they likely view his position as expendable for now, something they can address much later; 2) the cuts, so far, have all been offensive - this might give some insight into what their approach to the draft and/or free agency is going to be; ie a heavy focus on offense.

I do. He's the perfect goal line quarterback.

I won't lose any sleep over it but if we start losing more linemen, then that is another issue...

I bet if Vickers would have caught that TD pass against the Raiders he'd still have a job.

I like Vickers, but for a part-time FB, he was due to make $1.5mil next year. Seriously, that's just not worth it. The Texans are better off finding some low round rookie or some minimum FA instead. They use too much one-back sets to pay that much for a pure blocker.

power run game meaning we would actually run the ball not try a trick play. i thought vickers did great in the Baltimore playoff game.

He did play better toward the end of the year but he still never lived up to what I was hoping for. They can find some cheaper options that are just as good
