I wonder if we'll be the primary game (looks like it'll still be Ravens/Steelers still).

The Chron says it's a move to allow people in Texas and Missouri to be able to watch both teams from their state since the Cowboys and Rams both have noon games.

But if both those teams are on the road why should it matter? I understand if they both had home games because of the way the setup is.

Anyway it works for me because I love being able to go balls deep into the noon games and when the Texans play 95% of my focus is on their game. Afternoon games are usually a drag so having the Texans on will be great.

Damn Cat, I didn't realize they could flex before November either, but that sucks. If the Texans-Chiefs ISN'T the national game in that time slot, I honestly don't understand the rationale behind moving it, since neither the Texans or the Cowboys are at home. I love the start time, but not just for kicks and giggles. Cat, I agree with everyone that's saying you should get on social media and raise hell. What's the worst that could happen?

A little close, but KC is a small airport (security is actually broken up by gate, not a giant line for the whole airport, which makes it way faster) and I lived in Missouri during college, so I know how to make it a quick trip. I would've done later if possible, but 5:30 was basically the only option other than in the morning.

Thanks to everyone for the condolences... I'll definitely email/tweet the NFL and see what happens.

Texans as well and perhaps 610. You never know, sometimes someone feels bad enough that gets moved along to the right person and bam, they comp you.

If the Steelers are still winless, while the Chiefs/Texans features two winning teams, I could definitely see the A crew covering the Texans game.

I know Ravens/Steelers is a great rivalry... and the TV crews love to hang on to those, even when the teams are awful (hence every single Cowboys/Redskins game finding their way to national TV regardless of the team's quality).

It's confirmed, Nantz/Simms will call the Texans/Chiefs game.

Great. Even with all the animosity this team has developed by not winning the last two years (even though during their entire existence, they've only been "expected" to win the last two years)... its nice to see them continue to get national games and national crews as a reflection that they are an upper echelon NFL team.

There was a time, not so long ago, that nobody thought they'd ever be worth a damn... to the point where people couldn't care less that Houston even had another team and would be willing to let them go the way the Oilers did (never been good, no historical or childhood connections, will never be as revered as the "historical" franchises... which is almost impossible as it is since they will always have a shorter existence than any other NFL team till the next one).
