The offense/special teams is responsible for 3 of these TD's. The defense gave up Gates long one... but they haven't had the chance to be more inept.
The offense isn't as bad as last week, but this game looks worse than that one did before the comeback. The franchise record for points allowed is 49. If SD doesn't let up, they'll surpass that. Hell, they might hang 60 or 70 on us.
I completely agree with you. Sage could have been a gap-stop this year between Carr and our next QB (whether that comes via draft/trade/FA). Mortgaging the future for that kind of investment (money/picks) could end up being a mistake, but it wouldn't be the first time this franchise made such a indelible decision. (See Tony Boselli, David Carr, et al.)
So, we've ruined at lest one QB (Carr) and are working on a 2nd (Shaub). Can we go for the trifecta (Rosenfels)?
Sadly this is true, this team has continued to look for quick fixes on what is essentially a 1972 Ford Pinto
I'm starting to gain more respect for Carr I have no idea how he took the abuse for 5 seasons. Do we even have a 3rd string QB? Thats priority #1 Monday for this team we will need one not to long from now
No, we don't. We had Zabransky on the practice squad but then let him go to make room for other players.
But those mistakes were by an entierely different regime... the whole point of clearing house was to LEARN from those mistakes, and bring people in who would avoid making them again. The same problems exist today that existed back in year 2-3. Overvaluing certain members of the offensive line, overvaluing certain members of the defense (Faggins, every single safety), having piss-poor luck with free agents (Weaver, Ahman Green)... and now comitting big money to a skill position before the o-line/depth is in place. The only direction for this franchise to take is to bring in somebody who has done it before... not an expansion team coach (Capers), not a hot-shot coordinator (Kubiak), but to bring in an established presence/talent evaluator that will actually coach the team (ie - no Dan Reeves consulting).
Does anybody know when Houston is actually going to get a PRO football team? We're the freakin' Washington Generals of the NFL.
Do they really have to show SCHAUB sitting on the sidelines every F*CK*NG break...? WTF, Dan Dierdoff...? Running out of sh*t to say? F U, Dan... F U, Bryant stupid Gumball... Anyway, cheers to really having a better quarterback with the same F*CKed UP offsneive line... No one's listening. Fire the line coach, cut all the linesmen.
Great point Nick- I guess that's what makes it even more frustrating. After 6 years it seems as though the franchise hasn't progressed much if at all.
for all the complaining going on with this team, the O-line deserves the least of it. at least for this game. Schaub didn't get knocked out b/c of sack. it was after he threw an INT. that's got nothing to do with the line.
