Wow, those really look awful. They look like the Tampa Bay practice jerseys. I guess this is the new normal. I was hoping the NFL would stay clear of what college football has been doing the last few years with teams constantly changing uniforms. But I guess the more you change uniforms, the more jerseys you can sell. Maybe we can be like Baylor or Oklahoma State and just have different uniforms for every game! $$$$
So did they really design these, promote them, and THEN realize that the Patriots also have blue and red? What a waste of time for all involved.
This is the first time it's registering that the Texans *aren't* playing the Colts at home on Thursday night... In fact, it's an NBC game. I kept thinking, Wear it for the Colts' Thursday night game... I do like the all blue; those are cool. Man, I wish the Texans would revamp their uniforms.
I think they should at least change up the away all white. Like red outline of white letters or something.. Even more all one color. Or better yet white helmets would be legit.
Texans are one of six teams that won't be wearing the jersey this year. (Browns, Falcons, Texans & 3 others) Spoiler <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The <a href="https://twitter.com/Browns">@Browns</a> are 1 of 6 teams that won’t be wearing color rush uniform this season due to home team’s color. Team will wear all white at Balt</p>— Dan Murphy (@DMurph_BrownsPR) <a href="https://twitter.com/DMurph_BrownsPR/status/775696645187076096">September 13, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Those Color Rush unis are pretty bad ass. I wouldnt mind having them as the regulars. As far as the white helmets, it would be cool, but its not gonna happen. NFL hasn’t changed its one-helmet rule: Spoiler The expanded use of the “Color Rush” program in 2016 has sparked plenty of speculation regarding the looks that teams will trot out for Thursday games. The chatter has included the possibility of college-style alternate helmets. That won’t be happening, because the league has retained its rule that requires each player to wear only one helmet per year. The rule was adopted for safety reasons several years ago. The helmets could be repainted, in theory. But this isn’t a random grade-school team from the ’70s where the coach rattles the ball in a can of spray paint before misting a fresh coat on each player’s flimsy helmet with single-bar mask (the good news is that the paint fumes countered the second-hand smoke). Getting NFL helmets to look the right way isn’t a simple process, and with the “Color Rush” games coming on Thursdays and teams typically playing the preceding Sunday, there simply won’t be time to do it the right way. So while the “Color Rush” jerseys and pants may be interesting (or not) in appearance, the NFL won’t be adopting an approach to headgear that will spark the same kind of “Hey, who in the hell am I watching?” confusion that confronts plenty of fans surfing through college games every Saturday in the fall.
No, there are other conflicts as well. And there are teams that will appear the same color to colorblind people so the road teams are wearing white in those games too. Same color: Texans (Pats), Falcons (Bucs), Cardinals (49ers) Colorblind: Jets (Bills), Browns (Ravens), Rams (Seahawks) The Colts, Redskins, and Lions won't wear them either because their only Thursday games are on Thanksgiving which isn't part of the color rush.
Disagree, there was a prototype of the 1st Texans helmet that was all white, looked like a bad H.S. helmet. No thanks.
