you're exactly right. they were talking about that this morning on 610. saying that you didn't see receivers running quick slants or anything to help out. there were no notable adjustements made to counter the fact that we coudln't stop the pass rush.

I believe one WR is open on every play. I believe the terms is 'if your even you're leavin.' It's up the qb to find that guy who is one on one and get 'em the ball.

I'm beginning to think so too. His bad moves are piling up and I'm getting tired of his constant spinning on the radio shows.

    Bad moves….
    1. Using us a 2nd round pick on Tony Hollings
    2. Selecting Joppru over Witten.
    3. Selecting two 3rd round bust in 2002 – Fred Weary and Charles Hill.
    4. Letting Posey and Foley go.
    5. Using 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks to move up and select Babin. He might turn out ok, but just too much to give up.
    6. 2nd and 3rd round picks for P-Burnt.
    7. Pushing out Aaron Glenn for P-Burnt.
    8. Overpaying for mediocre talent. Weigert, Wade, Pitts, Greenwood, Wong, Walker, and McKinney.
    9. David Carr – Not sure if I would count this as a bad move yet, but I’m sure many people would.

I think it's time for Capers to go. We'll never go anywhere with this conservative offense, and I believe he is the reason for it being so conservative. Plus, how will it get better when they refuse to make any changes to the offensive personnel?

Also, why did we cut Swinton and keep Tony Hollings? Hollings brings nothing to this team and wasn't even active. We could have used Swinton to return kickoffs since we have no one else.

I would have cut Bradford and saved Swinton.

When Mathis went down due to injury, we had to use Morency. Our backup RB. If Mathis is healthy he can share return time with Swinton and Mathis can run the deep routes that Bradford did.

When is Derick Armstrong coming back?

Honestly, until the O-line issue is addressed, nothing is going to get better. The line is where it all starts on both sides of the ball. Texans didn't address it, decided it was good enough as it is and this is what you get.

I agree with all the posts up through mine...It is ridiculous and yeah, I know its one game, but damn...Anyway, we should expect the front office to be cleared out by the end of the season...

Problem is, he was talking about their current #2 receiver. Swinton should have made the roster as at least the back-up kick returner and the 4th WR. Morency didn't look comfortable returning (granted, he hasn't done it for 2 years and that was in college).

I truly don't know why or how a) Corey Bradford was re-signed, b) made the roster, c) makes the active roster, d) gets on the field, and e) gets passes thrown to him? He is terrible. He'll have his 1 or 2 60-70 yd play to keep him in the mix, but he is just not good.

swinton/bradford is the least of this team's problems. we still lose 22-7 with swinton, sloan thomas and anyone else you want to argue should have been kept to fill the bottom of this roster.

four years into this thing and we have exactly two building blocks: AJ and dunta. that's pathetic. CC's to blame for poor drafts and free agency miscalculations; the coaching staff is to blame for their inability to develop talent and the players are to blame for their inability to execute even simple tasks.

What are the chances of Capers & Co. being fired this season, during the year? Out of curiosity.

My guess would be very small. If they maintain this level of play, it could happen. There is nothing to gain be firing a staff in the middle of the season. I would have to think that Chris Palmer would be on a shorter leash than the rest of the staff. It's much easier to fire/replace a coordinator mid season than a head coach.

Thank G-d it's still baseball season.

Spoken like a politician [do you have any polical moves planned?]

In eesence, who take the blame and hook if this team performs below par this season? Do we clean house and start all over again like some other thread suggest? Or we just cap CC and Palmer only?

I like Cape and I believe he is being let down by Palmer and the talent provided him.

IMO it goes all the way back to drafting Boselli. Cost us dearly that he never materialized and affected the whole first year building stragedy and everything since. Also IMO Babin may turn out to be a good player but not a great player and not worth the two or three potential starters we paid for him. Failure begins at the top, but usually blame for the failure sinks to the bottom.

Good point. Anybody remember the expansion list of players..... and the other offensive lineman on there???

Even if they weren't explicitly named on the list... the Texans could have negotiated with a lot of teams who had high priced talent there, and gotten them to place that player on the list.

    Ha! Boselli!

What a great way to start a franchise - with a major bust that ends up never even playing.

    I remember it well...
"We got Boselli - he's gonna be great!"...
"Boselli may not make it to the season opener because of his injury"...
"Boselli is gonna be out a few more games because of his injury"...
"Boselli might not play at all this first season because of his injury"...
"Boselli might not play next season because of his injury"...
    ...
"Boselli will never play one friggin' game in a Texans uniform"

... A warning sign of things to come.

The Bills are probably better than most of us think they are, maybe one of the best defenses in the NFL, but, admittedly, that was a feeble performance by the Texans. I predicted that the OL was a big problem that the Texans failed to address and that it might cost them the season. A .500 season looks pretty good right now. When does the NBA kick off? That may be the Houston's sports fan's only hope.

I may be wrong, but we had our eyes on Payne and Walker and Boselli was included, because Jax wanted him off the books. He was a risk at the start and most of these rumors were already common place, before he even showed up to camp.

It's been a while, so I hope I didn't get this mixed up.
