Had a Kevin Walteresque block on Watson TD.

But really he sucks and was another wasted draft pick. My 3 favorite picks under the BOB were all flops. Louis Nix - thought he was a steal in the 3rd round, XSF - thought he would be an improvement over wade smith and a 10 yr starter and Strong.

    Hey at least your honest!

I admit Strong looked like my favorite of the 3rd round or later receivers we've taken. With Devier Posey being my least favorite.

We need to recruit the WR coach/scout for Green Bay or Pitt, those guys find studs from any part of the country and in any portion of the draft.

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-refocused-houston-texans-13-cincinnati-bengals-9

    HOUSTON TEXANS
    TOP 5 GRADES:

DI J.J. Watt, 88.8 overall grade
LB Zach Cunningham, 83.4 overall grade
S Eddie Pleasant, 83.2 overall grade
C Nick Martin, 82.4 overall grade
DI D.J. Reader, 80.4 overall grade

    PERFORMANCES OF NOTE:
QB DESHAUN WATSON, 70.2 OVERALL GRADE
Thursday night was a far better performance than Watson’s Week 1 outing, but it was still a mixed bag overall. He had the long scramble for the game’s only touchdown, which was easily the play of the game. However, he also threw a pass in the first quarter that could have, and maybe should have, been intercepted by Darqueze Dennard with the potential for it to be returned for a touchdown, which would have made it a completely different game. Watson also completed just two passes that were targeted 10-plus yards downfield on six attempts.

HB D’ONTA FOREMAN, 72.0 OVERALL GRADE
The Texans’ offensive line was pretty poor as a run-blocking unit overall, and their extra offensive linemen sets didn’t add much in place of their typical tight ends. Both running backs had little to work with but got as much as they could given the circumstances. Foreman had a couple nice runs, broke two tackles, and gained 32 of his 40 rushing yards after contact.

    DI J.J. WATT, OVERALL GRADE
Football is more fun when J.J. Watt is on the field and healthy and playing the way we’re all used to seeing him play. We got that tonight. The future hall-of-famer totaled six pressures on the night (all hurries) to go with two stops and a great 88.7 run defense grade. Watt’s first step was unstoppable tonight, as he often found himself by Cincinnati offensive linemen before they were even fully up out of their stance. Watt is now up to eight total pressures on the season to go with an elite 90.7 run defense grade through two games.

LB ZACH CUNNINGHAM, 83.4 OVERALL GRADE
Cunningham followed up a nice professional debut last week with an even better game this week, earning good grades in both run defense (83.9) and coverage (81.6). The second-round pick out of Vanderbilt tied for the team lead with five tackles and three of those were stops (a tackle that constitutes as a loss for the offense based on down and distance) and he was targeted just twice on the 27 snaps he dropped into coverage on.

    Takeaways:
    1) Watt looked like he was back to being a monster
    2) Watson was solid, not spectacular. His feet were the difference though. Don't win that game without him.
    3) Hopkins turned it on in the second half thankfully, because he was a bad player in the first half. His hands are suddenly an issue
    4) Cunningham throws me off so much. I keep thinking he's a cornerback or safety when I see him. I can't think of another linebacker I've ever seen with his build.
    5) OBrien honestly just forgets he has Foreman and doesn't really know what Lamar Miller is good at. I can't understand why he runs him the way he does.
    6) We have issues on special teams. It finally occurred to me last night that these guys just don't know how to scout players. You watch the Bengals and they got off the jam right away and are gunning downfield. Our guys never get totally off of their jammer.
    7) Even with what seemed like 20 offensive linemen in the game at a time we still couldn't create good protection for the most part. There is a MASSIVE talent deficiency there. I go back to what I said about the special teams unit; I'm not convinced these guys actually know how to scout talent.

Dear God - they are far worse than "horrendous". I saw the Bungles constantly rush 4 guys against 6 Texan OL and still get to the QB and that ain't gonna cut it. It's by the grace of God that Deshaun is still able to walk this morning. Now I know someone had to win that game last night and all but nothing I saw makes me believe that this will be no better than an 8-8 team. Honestly, that was some really bad football last night and at one point I could have sworn I was watching the Oilers playing against the Oilers. They may have been able to squeak out a win by making 2 FGs and a TD but lets see how they fare against teams that don't have coaching staffs with their collective heads jammed up their asses. It's like the NFL has suddenly become like the NBA where there are teams that have NO chance at winning before the season starts. I swear that Mike Brown looked like the reincarnation of Bud Adams last night. He's certainly got Bud's ownership style down pat.

I'm surprised McKinney wasn't in the top 5. Hell I would have thought he would be number 1. Dude looked really good last night and looks like a top 5-10 ILB in the NFL.

That's crazy. Why are we not using him more?

Hate to be right about Jaelen Strong. There just isn't anything special about him and I said it at draft time. I HATED that pick.

Honestly I think they have missed on every receiver. Braxton Miller has done nothing. Can't beat his man at the line of scrimmage. Will Fuller has a lot of speed but is not a good catcher of the football. Strong's biggest contribution to this team is one block. They've spent a lot of capital getting those three receivers and between the three of them they have less than 100 catches and like 5 touchdowns.

In his final year here, Nate Washington was better than any of those guys have shown. It's pathetic.

Suddenly? What have you been watching? This has been the reality for the NFL for YEARS. You just have a better parity perception because teams get into the playoffs when they weren't in the year before. The deck chairs switch on the Titanic, but it's still the same. Every year in the NFL there are teams that have no chance to win a superbowl, a handful that have zero chance to make the playoffs, etc.

Also, if the championship was decided by even a Best of 3 series in the NFL we'd have zero parity.

Shorter season and a single elimination tournament creates parity.

This game does make you wonder if you made it to heaven, and then you turned the corner, and you saw another angel eating some angel wings, what would you think. You may be like why did did the eating angel pick the angel wings over the angel legs, or you might be thinking that is one sick b*stard angel who slipped through the cracks, but either way you know when you get back your puffy cloud you are going to have a lot of angel sex so it's all good.

Strong should be cut. Can't get a target with 3 active WR....
Fuller can't stay healthy. It's as if the Texans don't consider health a part of the game until it comes time to need an excuse.
Miller, I still believe he has potential as a wild card/allaround offensive threat but bobs creativity is less than nothing. That's the only reason to draft miller, and yet, they pidgeonhole him as an outside WR.

Who even is their 5th WR?

    Lame.

Only one player was above 80 on offense lol.

Kyler Fuller showing up (even if it is with a 65) is hilarious. Scrub backup center forced to get snaps because the rest of the line is so bad and have no tight ends and he played better than all linemen but 1.

What annoys me most about the Strong situation is dude can play, he can be a solid #2 but he's a **** up in every way. I wanted them to draft him because he reminded me of Dre at Az State, a solid possession receiver that can take the abuse of going over the middle and he's tall so jumpballs are automatic receptions but Billy O knows better

For those that are getting irritated with Hop.

I mentioned last week that he sustained the same injury that Carlos Correa had in his thumb.

It will cause some issues catching the ball.
