Maybe I should just blast a hole through my foot now, but I laid down $10 on the Texans this weekend ($10 is decent for a broke college student). I told myself a couple of years ago when I lost $30 on a week 17 regular season game (not texans) that I would never bet on regular season again...however, I feel this is a make or break game for the Texans season and possibly the Dom Capers era.

If we get blown out in this one, I can see Capers being gone by Week 10. If we win and the offense starts clicking, I can see the potential for a turnaround. I don't know if I have trust in Capers or Casserly anymore though...so I don't really know what I want to happen this week. I still laid money down on them, foolish as it seems. Maybe I'm just hoping the Bengals will get a little big-headed and think we'll roll over for them...unlikely with a Marvin Lewis team though.

Keep in mind that the teams that Cincy has beaten combine for a record of 2-7.

The Bengals have talent, but I don't consider them a talented team.

This weekend will be just as big for the Bengals as for the Texans.

If they win, their fans will act like they're not surprised. If they lose, they will resume their previous title as "The Bungles".

Bengals, 20-13. Texans run a bunch of clock, slow the game down, but aren't good enough to win.

Here is the yahoo sports fantasy matchup breakdown for the game.

    When Houston has the ball:
    Pos Player Rating Analysis
QB David Carr Bengal D is playing well and will tee off on him
RB Domanick Davis Look for lots of garbage time production as dump-off option
RB Vernand Morency He's coming on but still a reach
WR Andre Johnson Bengal corners aren't great so he could do something
WR Jabar Gaffney A complete waste of time so far
WR Corey Bradford Is he still in the league?
K Kris Brown Texans can't move the ball or play defense

    When Cincinnati has the ball:
    Pos Player Rating Analysis
QB Carson Palmer #1 QB this week
RB Rudi Johnson Excellent matchup and situation at home
WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh He's real involved and excellent matchup vs weak #2 cb
WR Chad Johnson Great matchup for this stud
TE Matt Schobel Not a horrible reach but there's only one ball
K Shayne Graham Offense will move the ball so good start

A sleeper fantasy person would be Jerome Mathis. I predict 120 + yrds in return plus maybe 1-3 receptions, 40 yrds maybe and a TD. I hope bradford is out.

I predicted the '05 Texans to get 9 wins, and they'll start playing like the team I thought they'd be starting this week in week 3. The Texans will win today.

What is the texans record? If the bengals are good at beating bad teams they will kill the Texans.

I disagree. Pittsburgh could kill all the teams Cincy played, including Cincy. Buffalo had a great game against the Texans, but our defense did ok.

I don't think it will be the blowout everyone thinks it will be.

I originally thought it will be a blowout, but have changed my mind. I think the Texans will limit them to 20 (which is not great, but better than they've been averaging). The key to the Texans winning is the offense's execution.

The d was mediocre at best. It would have been a blowout if not for the fact that Losman sucks.

I want to believe, but I just love Chad Johnson. He's da man (plus he's on my fantasy team)

    I hate ANY bengal.

    I also hate Steve Taskhole.

I am turning off my signature for all my TEXANS' games. There's no reason for me to bash them.

Texans will make it interesting for a half, then Cincy will unload. Game will be over by the 4th quarter.

That hit by Dunte was poetic.

He swatted at the ball, causing the fumble... think he was more worried about doing that then giving Carson Palmer a concussion.

Running on 3rd and 7 in the Red Zone... you sure Palmer still isn't the O-Coordinator?
