Excellent win for the franchise. For the people who wish to tank the season...screw the draft. we need veterans. veterans like Houstonian Michael Lewis (S) who can replace CC Brown. We need a LT, a 3rd WR. We need another corner to help DR. ALL this can be fixed in free agency. Who in the hell wants to sign with a team that hasn't shown any improvement? Our free agency appeal is bad right now but a win in Cleveland will give us an excellent shot at increasing our appeal. If we have a solid draft like in 2006 we will be pretty darn good. I would guess that at least one or two of the picks we make in 2007 will be assigned to a kicker or punter.

Yeah I think McNair has a blind spot for "wholesome family character types"

Hopefully he is businessman enough to get over it if Carr isn't the answer.

I think the people who voted "no, we should tank" really meant "no, I want the Houston Texans to lose so I can b**** and lick VY nuts some more"

You seem really obsessed with the Titans.

My gut feeling is that McNair (who did not get where he is today by being a stupid man) has learned his lesson this year. He was at the titans game. He listens to talk radio. He watches ESPN. He knows how the city (and the rest of the country) feels about Carr/Vince/Bush/Mario.

Most importantly, I think he will leave the decision up to Kubiak. And, if you've been watching Texan games the last 4 or 5 weeks, you probably feel as I do that the decision has already been made.

He needs to stop making BUSINESS DECISIONS
    over
    FOOTBALL DECISIONS

Until he does that . . he will be doomed

If he was making BUSINESS DECISIONS, he would have taken Vince Young.

just helping out someone who didnt understand the correlation between the rockets and the texans. the win vs the colts is the end. getting an nfl team to houston was the beginning. to understand the present we must understand the past.

Just because Steve Patterson worked for both organizations doesn't mean "The Rockets created the Texans."

They could have had Charley Casserdly in charge of that operation, and then LA would have had a new team.

    Steve came up CLUTCH!

Steve left for the Blazers afterwards, so he had no say for the draft.

I'm sure as long time Houston sportsperson and citizen, he would have drafted differently.

Lets not forget Steve brought that legendary 1993 team to the world.
    Thanks Steve!

When I was workin downtown htown in the same building as that NFL holdings, I would tell my coworkers, hey that's Steve Paterson!!! no one would know what i was talking about . I told them he was one of the most important people in Houston Sports history.

    well . . . that is true
    but
he eliminated Vince from the picture because he made a business move
CARR - can sign and have for the next 3 yrs [relatively cheap]
    and
still get a #1 draft pick -which he chose Mario basically because Mario
would sign before the draft ... and bush wouldn't
[eerily similar to Signing Carr because he would sign before the draft]

Forgot to mention he was the best QB in the draft too. Don't forget that little nugget.

didn't get to see the game or read these threads but thats a good win for the Texans. Hopefully they will build on that and it will carry over to next year for whatever players are around.
