i hear ya. i just don't see what the motive would be when these guys all have careers to support based on their efforts on the field. i don't think there was a concious effort to throw games. if there was, i want every single player on the roster who participated off the team immediately.
I was starting some of the Reggie Chants, Especially in the Jaguars game. That interception Carr threw towards the end of the game was beyond ridiculous. He threw it right at the defender
Are you kidding me? You honestly believe the Eagles will win more games than us this year when they have a less-than-100% McNabb and Pinkston as their #1 receiver?? I completely agree that they are a more proven franchise and ahead of us in terms of winning, tradition, history, etc. But to say that they will win more than us this year is unjustifiable. Our team will be much improved from last year's. And please, don't be on of those idiots that looks at our 2-14 record and judges on that alone. Look at the number of games we should've won, not just could've. Even though the Eagles' schedule looks easier than ours this season, that team will not be better than the Texans at the start of the season. One thing I may have forgotten to include is that he may just like Donovan more than Carr, which I can understand. He's a much more proven quarterback, but there is no way that they win more than we do. The Eagles will have more cap room than us as well. All this may also be a moot point since Moulds will most likely be traded rather than being released, and we are the front-runners in that race.
Do I think the Eagles will have more wins than us? YES I DO. Let's not forget that the Eagles were in the SuperBowl just a season ago. McNabb missed 7 games, TO only played 7 games and caused more havoc in that lockeroom than any of us could imagine, and they still won 5 more games than we did. I don't just look at our 2-14 record to guage had bad we are/were. I saw every single game and I realized that the talent on the team was among the worst in the league. I don't care how many games we "should have" won because at the end, it was the Texans that threw it away. While our offseason has been better than the Eagles' so far, we're still in March. A ton of stuff can happen. With that said, isn't a real shame that McNabb still threw for more yards, more TDs, and less INTs than Carr despite playing 7 less games? The moves made by the Texans so far are filling holes we've should have filled long ago, it should make us better, better than 2-14 at least. Any moves the Eagles make will add on to their 7-9 record, I will be very suprised if the Texans can get 7 wins next season. BTW, I wouldn't start using terms like "idiots," no point in name-calling in one of the more civilized threads on this board. The Eagles' have more talent on both sides of the ball than we do, McNabb is a Top 3 QB when healthy, they have more experience, they have a veteran coach who isn't taking their first stab at being a head coach. Don't get me wrong, I really like the new direction we are taking. But to say we will win more games than the Eagles is a stretch IMO. I just thought it was a little "funny" to say that Moulds doesn't care about winning if he chooses the Eagles versus the 2-14 Texans with the first time head coach.
Not much more to add to gucci888's comments, but the Eagles actually have had a better offseason too: They've resigned Jon Runyon, keeping their O-line solid, and a vast improvement to the Texans. They snagged Darren Howard away from the Saints, who has more sacks than Kalu and Weaver combined, putting him on the other side with Javon Kearse. They'll address whatever minor holes they have through the draft - like always, and hope that Reggie Brown can expand on his good rookie season at WR. I'm happy for the Texans too, but don't get crazy...
Sorry, just noticed I misquoted... my comments were directed at Phil's remarks not gucci888's. I'm just in a hurry.
Cool. Moulds is getting a little old, but he'll be a great addition. This offense is looking pretty damn good now. Almost NFL good. Damn...maybe we should get an Official Texans Offseason thread going next year.
Bob Allen on ABC 13 said it won't be done until Wed. or Thurs. But i'll take Berman's word over any local reporter.
Those are the two guys I listen to the most when it comes to local sports. Berman being the first and Allen some where down list, not that anyone besides Berman is ahead of him though.
wow, after all the EAgles hype, I didn't expect much on our front. At least not until a few days passed and I heard "Eagles passing on Moulds" or something of that nature. Somehow it's already done for us? Amazing! Love it
