Hindsight is 20/20. If we don't have a deal for Diggs, I'm not sure we trade back for the future pick. For me, it never felt like our pick since we only had it a week or so. We tried to give Stroud a legitimate weapon and I'm okay with the gamble. Diggs was big in a few games and an unfortunate injury happened to someone who rarely gets hurt.

LOL, how did they manage to win 11 games last year?

What was their record with Nico/Diggs/Tank in the lineup together?

We got to play 6 of those games against crappy division opponents. That's how. Honestly, I wonder if Tank will ever play a full season without injuries.

This was a hard schedule, they beat Buffalo. But you're right the division is where they won 5 games last year. What was their record with their top 3 WR's healthy? I agree, you cant count on Dell being healthy ever again. They need to remake the WR room this off-season.

What was wrong with the offense last year was far more than Slowik sucks.

They definitely need to beef up our wide receiver core! I hope we draft two really good wide receivers. Hopefully we sign a veteran to make our offensive line better in FA, along with a promising draft pick for depth.

I'm hoping they sign a guy who already knows the offense (Demarcus Robinson) and another veteran WR (Elijah Moore) in FA. (Total cost according to Spotrac 7.5 mil for both) and draft a developmental guy in the 4th or 5th rd. I like Jaylin Noel and Isaac TesLaa as these type guys. Both are talented guys that need time to develop.

I supported it until I learned that the financial fallout continues into this offseason. We could have drafted Brian Thomas, re-signed George Fant and still drafted Kamari Lassiter with our second round pick...I guess. Oh well. Let's hope Nick makes all the right moves this offseason.

Yep they could've had BTJ, Lassiter, Bullock but not Fisher.

I love the job Caserio has done, but he screwed this up and hasn't done a good job drafting OL and made things worse by extending Howard/Mason.

If he gets things right and is able to add 4-5 above avg players in FA/Draft this team can win a championship. They need a couple of field stretching WR's, 2 OL and a S/CB

Agreed, Nick has been awesome but that deal didn't work out and I will be skeptical of any fringe OL that are drafted until I see them play in real time. This year is critical, we don't have a ton of cap and he has to hit on the draft and at least one stud FA

It 'didn't work out' because of something that was beyond anyone's control.

I was very critical of this deal, but it turned out to be a smart bet. Diggs played well and was a critical component of our offense.

In addition, he seemed to be a model teammate and was well liked by the staff and FO.

Would I have traded Stefon for a better OL? Of course, we'd give up almost anyone besides CJ for that knowing what we know now.

    But that doesn't mean it wasn't a net-positive deal.

Last yr would've been the yr to trade this yrs 1st rd pick for more talent in that draft. That draft was loaded, this draft not so much. There were players such as McConkey/Saiistill/DeJohn/any number of OL picked in the 2nd rd are better that anybody Caserio is likely to pick in the 2025 1st rd.

I certainly wouldn't do this in this years draft. Last years draft was a totally different animal. Only way you trade a 2026 ist for a 2025 2nd this year is if you really like say Zabel/Jackson/Nolen/Birden etc.. and they fall to the top of the 2nd. Even then I'm not sure I would make that trade. One benefit of doing business this way is without having to pay a 1st rd pick you're keeping your cap down while getting a 1st rd player a year early for 2nd rd money.

I will feel much better if Caserio goes out and gets a proven IOL in FA and as draft picks go I really like Jackson/Booker/Zabel.

Is Diggs coming back? I wouldn't think so. Too high risk.

The cap aspects of the deal do not make it defensible, even with the contract. Diggs has been a declining player and ruined relationships with both teams he played with. The upside was not worth the risk given his age, contract and production.
