Things like this is why I don't take PFF serious...not like I take them for anything most of the time anyways.
Risks: 1) Diggs' production last season fell off a cliff - could he be washed?; 2) he seems eternally unhappy wherever he plays - will he disrupt what sure seems like a cohesive group here?; 3) if he balls out, we might watch ~100/1000/10 walk out the door. So, the reworked contract facilitates #3 while making it extremely easy to cut bait if #1 and/or #2 materializes. From that perspective, I think the upside outweighs the risk. I'm not going to complain if Diggs drops an All-Pro season on us & then leaves. It will almost certainly be in service to a 10+-win season and playoff appearance. I still don't regret the trades for Randy Johnson or Carlos Beltran - know what I mean? Being static, standing still - you don't move forward. And if he does ball out - but loves playing here... the Texans would likely be a preferred destination. It's also a shrewd move by Caserio, IMO. He dangles the carrot in front of a perpetually mercurial player. Again, it could backfire - Diggs could immediately be upset with fewer touches, etc. But he's an easy cut. Caserio is basically shoving all his chips into the middle of the table and daring Diggs to be anything other than optimally behaved and at peak form.
Gamer, twitch streamer (from Houston?) https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/people/sketch-streamer Sketch went viral for his catchphrases and accompanying gestures that he commonly cycled through on stream. Most notably, his usage of "What's Up Brother?" accompanied by pointing his index finger up earned him mainstream attention in sports meme circles. Other famous Sketch phrases are "Tuesday, Tuesday," "Special teams, special plays, special players," and "Evil MrBeast, all I do is take." https://www.thegamecrater.com/who-is-twitch-streamer-sketch-whats-up-brother-explained/ https://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/national/article287347040.html Spoiler LOL “What is Tucker doing?”:
Not at all. Especially if you're not into streamers. I'm not into them but I hear about a few every now and then. Most are really annoying. Not sure how people get a kick out of watching other people live their day to day life.
The other insane play here is that if Diggs does ball out for us it means some of that productivity will have come at the expense of Nico, who is due a massive extension. That could result in some big time cost savings for a player that is clearly on a trajectory towards elite status. Another thought is that it's unlikely this 2nd rounder would be capable of meaningfully contributing until CJ is off his rookie deal, so Nick is shooting his shot now. As insane as it sounds, the goal is now a Superbowl, and we're acting accordingly.
