Honestly, I am ok with taking on Derek Carr and front loading a deal for Tunsil with the cap space. I feel like not having consistent qb play is harming the development of other guys. Trade down, fill in more holes with extra picks, and go for qb next year when they could have 3 first rounders.
I slept on it and it wouldn't be that bad, he actually has pretty good stats, completion % and td numbers could be better but I'd be cool with it. It would also be a good story, apparently he was heartbroken when the Texans took Xavier Sua Filo in the spot right in front of him in the draft, and he would provide consistency at the qb spot. Earlier in this season I advocated for Jimmy Glass so...I do disagree with you on taking a qb in this draft. If Hendon Hooker isn't there at the right spot and Carr comes in, I say they should punt on qb for a while and roll with Carr and Mills until Arch Manning is draft eligible.
I liken it to following what the Chiefs did... we need our Alex Smith before things are ready for our Mahomes...
If we dont mess this up we can have a #1 pick that can be auctioned to the highest bidder. That should fetch no worse than 2 #1s, 2 #2s, and more depending on how far back we move. It is an opportunity to turn one player into several this year and speed up the rebuild. We have 2 firsts next year as is. If we add a third, we can move up for just about any qb we want. I would rather plug holes and add a Carr, Goff, Stafford, etc. of whoever is out there.
Nothing against Lovie but I'd prefer a head coach that focuses on being the head coach not pulling double duty.
Agreed otherwise you’re just burning 1st rounders in the hopes of getting a guy even 3/4 as good. All while needing help at literally every other position. You have your franchise LT be thankful and draft everything else.
Totally off topic, but have you guys seen the pricing for Roughnecks tix??? They want $110 bucks a ticket! I really enjoyed the first iteration of the team pre pandemic, but Im not sure if Im ready to commit like that!
He will be able to get something for Cooks, too many teams have a need for a vet WR like Cooks. I'm hoping for Cooks and pick 4-103 for a 2nd rd pick.
