This is the first year where we, as a whole, arent going into the following year with a false sense of optimism. The predictions in previous years were 10-6 and playoffs. Not any more. We've been hit hard with a dose of reality. Its actually quite refreshing. I'll go with 8-8, at best. Probably 7-9.
I feel anything but refreshed over the state of this team. And until some additions are made to the defense, as firing Bush removes a problem but doesn't solve any of the other glaring problems, I'm going to stick with anywhere from 4 to 6 wins as my prediction. Unless there are 18 games, then mebbe 7 or 8. But .500 is a pipe dream for this club if they either maintain the status quo or bring in more rookies and expect that to turn this defense around.
You haven't factored in the 4 games we lose (every year...) that are one bone-headed play away from being wins. Once you factor that into your equation, we're looking at 5-11.
Bob McNair after next season and 5-11 "I still believe in Kubiak, it's the schedule's fault. How do you expect to win when you have that hard schedule given to you by the NFL? Our team didn't give up, we are on the right track"
Not a brutal schedule at all. The Texans will more than like be leading come the fourth quarter...but then...find away to give the game. Only this time the final score will be lower in points. After the usual four game losing streak, which owner will, with good intentions of course, encourage mcnair to continue on the right track?
Nothing's been done yet to convince me of this. Firing a guy doesn't solve your problems. And what's worse, Kubiak will be hiring the next DC. Dude is 0-for-2 on DC hires; let's let him hire another one!!!!!
Hopefully our run D is good next year. We're going to see: MJD x 2 CJ x 2 Michael Turner Jonathan Stewart Peyton Hillis Mendenhall McFadden Pierre Thomas Blount Ray Rice Cedric Benson Ronnie Brown That is some serious talent to stop on a weekly basis.
Let's wait until we see what our off-season moves are before we start making predictions. Throwing a boatload of cash at Ike Taylor is a start. This schedule is still easier than the one we just went through.
The * games will be interesting. because those are teams that potentially could have New Coaches Losing to any of them would be 'unacceptable' since they obviously took two years backwards. . . . Ain't that right Unca Bob Adams??? Rocket River
What in the hell do those two have in common? I get the frustration and there is plenty of valid things to complain about. But don't compare him to the freaking devil.
Sorry that is not how it works. Last year the defense was decent . .but we had no running game We fixed the running game and the defense went to hell. They plug one hole. . .another opens up somewhere else. Rocket River
Yeah, you would think this is the NFL or something. Not coming down on you, but I get so tired of hearing about strength of schedule in the NFL. It's so overrated IMO. There really isn't a lot of difference between the talent on a 11-5 team and a 5-11 team. This isn't college football where you have cupcakes and powerhouses.
^ True. If you're good, you're good no matter whom you beat or against whom you play. In your college comparison, however, there are from programs to programs, and the spectrum is a lot WIDER than in the NFL (with only 32 teams trying to get 16 spots for post season).
I'm not shocked by the talent we face, it is the NFL. There will always be solid RBs and QBs. Hell, we made some decent QBs looking like Joe Montana this year. I will make the statement that we will be in trouble in a lot of those games playing from behind.
