Analysis from ESPN... I agree that road stretch is brutal, but its not the greatest of opponents, we should be able to pull off at least a split. I love the bye week timing.
I love this schedule, every bit as much as I hated last year. The start is easy, and in the NFL, starts mean so much in terms of generating momentum and continuity. The other thing I really like is putting the most difficult game (Patriots) last. Why? Of course they'll make the playoffs, and with Brady back, they'll be the odds on favorites for the No. 1 seed. If they're locked into their seed by that last game, which so many teams are these days, there's a good chance they're resting their regulars for the postseason and don't particularly care about the game.
A very valid point. I will be rooting for New England this year to be wayyyy out in front in the AFC East.
Once again, the old AFL franchises are only wearing the throwbacks against fellow AFL franchises (Bills, Patriots, Chargers, the REAL Texans of Dallas, etc.) & seeing that Adams FOUNDED the Oilers while the Texans spawned due to over-zealous greedy LA biddnessmen failing to their ESS together in time to place a team in LA ... you guys can politely leave your shotguns at home. Thank you.
The absolute best part about looking at the schedule is not guessing wins or loses, but being able to honestly say for the first time in their history they have a chance in everyone of those games. You don't look at any of those games and say it's going to be a blow out. That in and of itself has me looking even more forward to the upcoming draft. Chmon Smith find your inner Morey so we can make this the best season yet.
OK, I had a long talk with some folks and this is how I broke it down as objective as possible Division 4-2 Who knows what will happen but 2-0 vs Jags and splits with Tenn and Indy seem like something that is likely AFC East 2-2 Best 2 teams here and Worst 2 at their place (I thinks Jets will be better than Miami) very realistic NFC West 3-1 terrible division easily worst division in football and 4-0 is possible but trying to be conservative AFC North and West 3rd place teams 2-0 = 11-5 my .02
Jets-Win @Tenn-Lost Jags- Win Raiders-Win (Revenge) @Cards-Win @Bengals-Win 49ers-Win @Bills-Lost @Colts- Lost Titans MNF (Should play this game in the Astrodome lol) WIN Indy- Win @ Jags- Win Hawks- Win @ Rams- WIn @Mia- Lost Pats- Lost 11-5 with 7 probowlers (Schaub,Slaton, Johnson,Daniels Ryans, Williams, and Robinson)
You really can't judge how teams will fare from year to year. Sure, if we had this schedule last year we could have won double digit games, but you never know which team will surprise the league. Who would have imagined that Miami and Atlanta would have made the playoffs? All I'm saying is don't jump to conclusions. It's way too early to predict win and loss records.
They cant wear the Oiler jerseys that game. This is the AFL Anniversery, they are only wearing throwbacks on days where they play another old AFL team.
