i'm not concerning myself with casual texan fans; i didn't/don't care who they lose to; just that they lost. if i were ranking losses, i'd put the buffalo one ahead of it; not only were they up with under a minute to play (at home), but they allowed jp losman to lead the winning drive. but like i said, a loss is a loss, especially in a 6-10 season short of thrills and excitement. uhm... no. not even remotely. the titans were outscored last year in their 16 games (324-400); in their 13 games with baby vince as the starter (291-324); and in their final 11 games in which they went 8-3 (264-265). that is the very definition of a mediocre team overachieving. and no, it wasn't because baby vince was on the team: they caught a slew of fortituous breaks and won some improbable games - expecting that luck to continue next year (especially with a worse team) is silly.
Sweeping the Titans? Beating Panthers on the road? and beating the Saints?? C'mon now... defense isn't good enough to stop the Saints.

This thread is a good place to go on record that I think the Texans will finish at worse 9-7 and will contend for the playoffs and can make it. This is the NFL where you can go from 4-12 #1 pick, to 12-4 divsion winner in 1 year like the chargers did in 04. Schaub is gonna be good at QB, we are solid at RB, OK at WR, we have a TE, our o-line is improved, d-line should dominate, LBs are decent, still have questions about the secondary...
Poor baseball. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6yW-4w-p6Fk"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6yW-4w-p6Fk" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qLepAFMcMII"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qLepAFMcMII" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Post of the Year !! I am huge Longhorn and VY fan but look at history running QB's have never won a superbowl ....Doug Williams did it but he wasn't a runner....McNabb, McNair, Vick...They have all gotten there but beaten by the pocket smart QB...Let Vince run a little more until he gets hit and knocked unconscious by a real man this is not college and you will see a different QB from that day on. I love Vince and wish him success except when he plays the Texans. Why is everyone so down on the Texans... ? 10-6 Baby !!!!! and the playofs guaranted !!
how about steve young? john elway? vick is in a league by himself as a runner. i agree with you..i don't think he's getting to the super bowl playing like that. but VY doesn't play like that. and neither did/do mcnabb or mcnair.
yeah, sorry, Rox Addict: that seemed more a commentary on black QBs, not running QBs. because any discussion of running QBs winning SBs a) would not include doug williams; b) would most certainly include fran tarkenton (4 SB appearences); john elway (is it 4 or 5 SB appearences? regardless, 2 wins); and steve young (1-1 in his only SB).
Bottom line, all running/scrambling QB's to be successful have to be able to throw the football. One dimension won't get it in the NFL. That's why college tactics like the wishbone don't work. Elway and Young won because they were equally dual threats with run/pass/decision-making/intangibles/heart of a champion. Elway though did not attain early career SB success because Denver's defense vs NYG and SF were overmatched and he also had no running game. Remember Sammy Winder? Ask Randall Cunningham and Akili Smith and Andre Ware how long a running QB lasts before put to waste?
First of all, you're wrong! When Peyton gets rocked out of a game maybe at the hands of Okoye, Indy's offense will be in shambles. The days of dominating for a decade are over because, it is now easier for a team through the draft and some shrewd offseason moves can vault out of the ashes and into contention. Also if VY is to become the Blackman Elway he won't win a SB for a decade! Of all the people on here, I have rarely ever if maybe not at all ever seen one post from you to accidentally be equated as positive. Get over the hate the Texans forever bit just because ...
