Random comment: Colts-Titans playing in another good game... Colts actually winning in Tennessee. EDIT: n/m... its no longer a good game. The Colts are pouring it on.
Carr has actually played well today 23/33 305 yards, 2 TD 1 INT. You're just not going to win games when you turn the ball over 3 times.
This is the same formula for the loss last week, too many turnovers without any help from the defense. I really can't believe a Capers team makes this many mistakes. That's supposed to be his specialty.
It’s going to be a looooooong year. The good: - The screen pass to Davis seems like a sure 6-8 yards. - There was some pass rush by the Texans this game. - Carr looked good in the 2nd half. The bad: - What happened to the Texans pass protection? - Glenn sure looks old all of a sudden. - Turnovers...specifically Davis.
Alright we're looking like the losers we are Big Fat Game balls go to The O-line for SH** Play D. Davis for not putting glue on his F***ing hands The Defense for for GGRREEAAATT third down conversion stops Damn this is going to be a sad year when we cannot even beat ourselves and our wonderful turnover production.
It may not be solely the offense (stupid penalties, TOs, blown coverages, no pass rush, etc etc), but the passive play of the offense is getting on my nerves. We had some decent success finding AJ, Bradford, and Armstrong downfield, yet we continue to run even in the 4th quarter? I'm not going UT and blaming the OC alone, but please, OPEN UP THE DAMN PLAYBOOK! And as for the D, WTF?! That's supposed to be our specialty and we let the CHARGERS and LIONS look like HOF offensive teams? Good Lord...
Everybody here is complaining about passive play... but this O-line has not been that good. You need that to be stable before you have delusions of Carr dropping back... looking...looking... going deep... TD! I still think their sack totals dropping are more due to implementing quick outs and screens, rather than a drastic "improvement" in the line-blocking.
We have to give the 0-line a couple more games to see if this new 'zone-blocking' is a big sham or not. I think we should pass to setup the run rather than vice versa.
There's nothing wrong with the zone blocking... Dom Davis is exploiting good holes, and we actually do move the ball well with the running game. Maybe these guys aren't good enough to go one-on-one, so they utilize the zone. That's fine... but its their pass blocking that needs to improve drastically (I don't think they implement zones for that). And, I don't know an NFL team out there, other than the Colts, who can legitimately pass to set-up the run. Actually, the run and screens definitely set up the pass today in the second half... unfortunately, our defense was unable to defend the pass as well.
What the hell is with Dominick Davis? I don't remember him having fumblitis this badly last year. *Urge to kill.....rising*
Statistics don't tell the whole story. Half of Carr's passes where to Davis on checkdowns. When the defense isn't playing well the offensive coordinator has to give the offense a chance to win it. I see the turnovers too, and they hurt, but when that happens, just like last week, our offense has to be given the chance to stay in the game. Palmer's playcalling is terrible. I'm tired of this uncreative and uninspired offensive gameplan. Domanick Davis accounted for about 85 percent of the offense, hello, we have other playmakers, utilize them. They don't deserve to win. Give me a top pick in the draft, a new cooridinator and a 43 defense.
Agreed...and I'd add in a new head coach. Who would be available, I wonder? Unfortunately, I think another 5-6 win season would keep Caper's job for him, though I don't know why.
I like Capers. I just don't like the 34. I like to have 4 hogs up front and in the trenches. I think running a 43 you have better setup for running the 34 in certain situations rather than vice versa.
