[Texan Fans] Who Do You Hate More: The Cowboys or titans?

Ya...and I hate saying stuff like this. But the reason why I write McNair and not the Texans is that I honestly think that we passed on Vince Young not because they Mario was better rather than McNair didn't want to give up on Carr.

But that's the way the cards fell so oh well. Dallas Sucks!! I feel better now.

 

Completely agree, with the one stipulation that Casserly still had McNair's ear, and Casserly, for whatever mysterious reason, was convinced that VY was not going to be a good NFL quarterback.

Besides, as much as the VY fans would be loathe to admit it, the Texans did not pass on VY to select Mario, they passed on Reggie Bush. Once the Texans signed Carr to his extension, VY was not going to be the choice anyway.

It was all about money. Whether it was Casserly or McNair, one or both of them believed that signing Bush was going to be difficult-to-impossible, and at the very least was going to be prohibitively expensive. Mario, on the other hand, was 'sign-able'.

I disagree with their decision to do what they did, primarily because I believe that if you are going to play in this big expensive sandbox called the NFL, then you have to be prepared to pay the costs of doing business. And one of the costs of doing business when you have a bad enough record to have the first pick in the draft is the very high price of a pick like that.

But maybe it all worked out ok after all - if the Texans go ahead and draft Bush, then there is a strong likelihood that Carr would still be here now. And it certainly appears that this team is a better team now with Schaub, et al, than it would be with Carr & Bush. Maybe we'll get the last laugh after all.

 

Yes, there are no VY haters.

Personally on most sundays I route for all 3 with no inherent conflict whatsoever. I have to admit the nastyness and dismissiveness of many Texan fans in this Rockets BBS towards VY makes me less enthusiastic about the Texans than I otherwise would be, but the majority of fans are probably more like MadMax, so I still pull for your guys team most days.

But I am a former Houston resident who no longer lives in a NFL town. Once the Oilers left town it broke my Cowboys-Oiler co-hold as my favorite (and at times I would have routed for the Oilers #1). Now it is the Cowboys by a big margin over the rest, with the Titans, Raiders and Texans competing for distant 2nd.

What I can't understand is any self-respecting fan in Houston or any other Texas city having anything but the outmost hate for the Pittsburgh Stealers. I can't see how any true old Oiler fan could stomach them more than the Cowboys--though I understand how for some the Titan/Bud Adams would be right there.

 

Well Bush and Carr get a chance now to show what they can do without any roadblocks.

I believe there should be no hate in this world. For to love is more satisfying as to hate... but I do hate people who hate and do not love.

I love the Texans, the Cowboys, and the Titans.

I have never really gone in for hating the Cowboys because the Cowboys teams I grew up with were the Tom Landry, DD Lewis, Cliff Harris, Bob Hayes, Roger Staubach, Drew Pearson, Ernie Stautner, Tex Schramm, Don Meredith, Chuck Howley, Don Perkins, Mel Renfro, Bob Lilly, Lee Roy Jordan, Randy White, Herb Adderly and Rayfield Wright Cowboys. I simply can't find much of anything to hate about that group. To me, hating on the Cowboys smacks of petty jealousy - after all they do have 5 Lombardi trophies sitting over at Valley Ranch while pro football has been in Houston since 1960 and a Houston pro football team has yet to reach the Super Bowl much less win one. Those are the facts and the Cowboys aren't to blame for this sorry state of affairs so why should I bother to hate them for being successful? It's just not their fault that while the Cowboys were winning, the Oilers were for the most part, a comical joke.

I also don't really feel one way or the other about the Titans because I grew up with the Oilers and the Titans are just another team to me now. Now, if you want to talk about Bud Adams, then we can talk some serious hate because I absolutely detest that scum-sucking POS. I hate him for what he did as owner of the Oilers and I doubly hate him for stealing away the team I grew up with and loved. It was a minor miracle that the Texans even exist because by all rights, this team should be playing in Los Angeles right now. By the grace of God (and the stupidity of Los Angeles) Houston was able to escape one last F**King from Bud Adams. Just imagine how bad it would be if you had no pro football in Houston today because of Bud Adams - every Sunday you'd get to watch the Titans. Just think how much that would suck...

 

I hate the Cowboys cause its a Dallas thing so the Cowboys suck. Plus their fans suck monkey ass crack.


I don't like the Titans because of a player. I hate WR Justin Gage.

I don't like the Titans because their fans that are not in Nashville are some fakes, some phonies, and some poseurs. Plus, they are in our division, so I hate them as much as I hate the Colts, and Jaguars. They may prevent us from winning the division and getting to the playoffs.

 

Cowboys . I have hated them for 25 years now . Being the only Oiler fan in a family of Cowgirls fans wasn't easy . Tennessee is gaining on them though . VY is making it very hard not to hate them . I cant stand the guy .
