    As others have mentioned:
    a) it was generally understood that he was retained but stripped of almost all decision-making influence that spring. Part of Kubiak's interview had McNair asking him how he'd go into the draft (Kubiak responded that there was no need to take Bush and that he'd try and rehab Carr before grabbing a QB high).

    b) Paraphrasing Chris Rock a little, landing a strong player with the top pick of the draft is what you're SUPPOSED to do. Even if you do credit him for Mario, in no way would that make up for the endless stream of horrendous and expensive mistakes overseen by CC. Carr and his extension, the draft picks pissed away for Buchanan and Babin, the poor value contracts handed out to journeymen, etc.
