Tex-Mex vs. "original" Mexican food

    They don't use that nasty bright yellow gooey cheese that's for sure. I once went to a Tex-Mex restaurant that served me a hard tortilla with that yellow cheese spread on it. Wtf is that supposed to be? :confused:

    supermac34... I have not seen it, but as close as Vandy is to downtown I didn't spend that much time in it last year and haven't had the chance yet this year.. so I'm still not totally familiar with everything...

    a quick look on a yellowpages site online though doesn't seem to list it.. I'll keep my eye out for it though because I'm always looking for some good mexican food here... any idea what street it was on?

    the very overrated place I was referring to is a place called san antonio taco company...

    I ate at a new tex mex place here the other day... the sign said you've gotta try this... but I NEVER should have tried this... taco cabana isnt' the greatest place ever made but it makes these places look bad.. that being said the places around the college are packed with all the new yorkers who think they are eating.. tex-mex down in the south..

    I plan on trying a place called baja fresh.. it's a chain and I think people have said good things about it on this board..
