And that they didn't know about the video nor did they verify either his statements or his service:

"Iraq Veterans Against the War recently learned of a video interview with Jesse MacBeth that directs viewers to IVAW’s website and phone number. IVAW was not made aware of the creation of this video program and our input on it was never sought by its producers. Jesse MacBeth is not a spokesperson for IVAW and any claims made by MacBeth about his service have not been verified. We are currently investigating these claims and will have a full statement pending its resolution."

I don't know if this guy served in the military or not...its looks like this is a pretty elaborate hoax, but I wouldn't knowingly put up something false like this and the website I got it from is known for providing accurate info. (http://dahrjamailiraq.com/index.php), thus, I didn't think I needed to check the authenticity of what I was posting

Apparently the webmaster that you linked to did not feel the need to do any more checking than you did.
Of more concern are the Bigfoots being bred as Homeland Security Agents.

Busted for hypocrisy and lack of self awareness.

According to the Hayes' principles of ideological consistency, one is not allowed to draw or quote from a source that one does not have total agreement with. Hence as noted I cannot cite libertarian anti war sources since I am not a libertarian.

Or am I wrong? Hayes, rather than consider the IVAW to be traitors with respect to the value of the Iraqi caper, the joys of civil war notwithstanding, , do you now agree with the IVAW's opposition to the Iraq War?

BTW, speaking as a leftist who believes in truth and facts instead of ideology, it would not surprise me if this particular guy had embellishd his story. I have seen this with these types of groups.

Let me also say this is the exact type ofr embellishment or falsification to make a story and score points that has been the hallmark of the entire neo-con/fake Iraqi exile intelligence, deception about wmd, tax cuts for the rich, bogus anti-global warming "research" trumpetting the one in a million family farmer losing the farm as an attack on the inheritance tax of 10 million dollar estates, that is the main mo of the Bush crowd.

So now the liberals are fabricating troops in an attempt to weaken actual troops' morale by introducing dissention among them through the negative news stories. Fabulous. Not surprised that America hater glynch and Iran-lover/America hater CreepyFloyd are the first to post and back up this story. So predictable. So disgusting. Busted again, brah.

I figure I am more on the liberal side but despise this kind of crap. It's pretty ****ty to try and pigeon hole all liberals because a few morons come up with garbage. I also would assume that most people on this board, liberals included, do not endorse this kind of behavior.

We do agree though that CreeprFloyd has a personal vendetta against anything not pro Iran.

Here's the truth, straight from GI MacBeth:

    STOP THE LIES
    by Jesse Macbeth
    Iraq War Veterans Against Google
Breakfast Shift Associate, Wendys of Tacoma

"My story starts in 2001. I was a sophomore at Mayfield High, a star athlete who was captain of the basketball, football, and track teams, and had singlehandly scored 200 home runs in one memorable wrestling meet against the Riverdale Archies. Obviously, this made me irresistable to girls, and I easily bagged the entire pom squad after winning my 4th straight state debate championship. No **** dude, I totally taped the whole thing, but I left it in the VCR and my stupid mom recorded it over with an episode of Wheel of Fortune.

While my incredible athletic and sexual prowess earned me accolades on the field and in the sack, it also earned me many enemies in the halls of Mayfield High. An upperclassmen named Dawson became enraged after learning I completely wanged his girlfriend Stacey, who went into a jealous fit after she found out I also wanged her totally hot mom. Then I learned a senior named Bueller had sworn his revenge on me because I smoked his Ferrari with my 600 horsepower VTEC Civic, which does 180 mph in the quarter, easy.

These lying liars went to the principal and started hurling lies. They accused me of drilling the mysterious hole in the girl's locker room. They accused me of showering in my underpants during PE, when they had no concrete evidence, and also maybe it was because of a medical condition. The accused me of lying, which was a complete lie, because in truth they were the real liars.

It was then I realized how damaging lies can be, even when the fat Goth poetry club chicks still believe you. I was expelled and my name was banished from the school and state athletic record books, effectively ruining my chances at the NBA. I channeled my anger into my Civic, adding a b****in' body kit from Pep Boys, nitrous, and a sweet 4" exhaust tip, but the cops busted me for 300 mph over the limit. Without a diploma or any way to pay the $500,000 speeding fine, the angry judge gave me the hard alternatives: jail, the Army, or male modeling school.
    ...
Ranger training was intense. Here I was among the best of the best - elite soldiers like Wright, and Pyle, and Bailey, rock hard mofos who were colder than an extra large Strawberry Frosty. There were even a few chicks soldiers like Benjamin and GI Jane, who I also wanged. We received training in advanced killing methods like neck-snapping and hand-to-hand spatula fighting. Although I was already buff, the rigorous training and wanging bulked me up to 145 pounds of rock solid death-bot.

One afternoon I was practicing my kung fu grip on my wingman, Maverick, when the Sarge gave us the call: "Pack up your stuff," he said ominously. "It's time to cap some hadjis." Three hours later we were parachuting into Fallujah, wondering what our secret mission would be. When I landed in the courtyard of the Iraqi Montessori school, I realized the horrible truth: "Operation Iraqi Freedom" was actually "Operation Iraqis - Fry Them."

It was too late to turn back now. I waded into the crowd of screaming moppets with both machine guns blazing, cutting down row after row of toddlers as the Sarge barked orders to keep killing - "hit the A button! hit the A button!!!". When I ran out of ammo I used my bayonet to kill some more until the blade broke off, and then I began bludgeoning the remaining toddlers with other toddlers and toddler parts. Finally I collapsed on the floor in a daze, completely out of health points."

The picture of his "Ranger School Class" is awesome.

Glynch, are you for real? You're getting desperate, man. When quoting fact you can use whatever source you'd like - when quoting editorial opinion it would be nice to generally agree with that opinion lest you face contradictions to your own opinions. As you can see from the quote above it is merely their factual statement about their relationship with MacBeth, not their opinions on Iraq. Get a grip. Further, there may come a time when you quote someone on a particular subject - that doesn't obligate you to defend every one of their opinions. But when you quote someone whose opinion is 99% opposite of your own then you might look for another source.

Isn't being a 'leftist' an ideology?
