Terrorists Seize Russian School

I agree that it appears that Islam is generating a lot of terrorists, but until there was some type of controlled study I don't think you can draw the conclusions that you're trying to make. There are plenty examples of non-Muslim humans doing horrific things across all geographic regions, religions, etc. Fifty-six million died in WWII and the Muslims had nothing to do with the start of that. Mass murder (including children)? Non-Muslim Europeans, Africans, Americans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians ... the list would go on for a while.

 

We're off on a tangent, so let's restate:


Threatening the lives of children is beyond the pale disgusting. I hope and pray that they all come out of this safe.

 

I would just like to state that I agree with everything DaDakota said in this thread.

Even if there might have been a legitimate cause originally - they have put themselves so far on the side of injustice that everyone who was behind the original cause should distance himself from it now. Only shame to ever have been associated with these bastards is what can be left.

It's rather interesting when you view terrorism in an society-evolution perspective. Used to be a country could only get seriously hurt until it made a sunstantial enough mistake to result in another country declaring war on it. Thus, many less-serious (but still serious) offenses could be made without repurcussions.

Now, individuals and small groups can wreak havoc. It is much more important in these times for a country to avoid mistakes, particularly in foreign policy (and that's why I cannot support Bush...but that's for another thread ).

I think that's been referenced in relation to the US putting down a Muslim insurgency in the Philippines (i never can spell that right) but it was debunked.

I know that all of the conservative talk show hosts go out of their way to paint the television and popular print media as being utterly biased to the left. I also know that Fox news is there, along with some other minor players, to balance and give a right-wing spin on things. But what I just say on ABC 13 here in Houston was inexcusable.

They just went through an entire segment on this horrible 4ucking story without once mentioning the fact that these are Muslim Extremists. How can that fact be omitted? I dare someone to tell me that the fact that they were Islamic is irrelevant.

In fairness I heard on Channel 2 them mention that these were Islamic terrorists.

Why did the ABC national team not mention this?
