how is nobody in this section talking about this? You have two nuclear nations about to go to war while indian elections are coming and modi is feeling pressure to retaliate with force. Modi has always hated muslims so im sure he has something special cooked up this time. Obviously we all know Pakistans history with state sponsoring terrorist attacks, but India was pretty quick to blame Pakistan without having concrete evidence.

China has invested too much money to let India wipe out Pakistan.

    The Real Danger
    Dave Schuler February 17, 2019

The greatest danger of a nuclear exchange is not between the United States and Iran, the United States and China, the United States and Russia but, indeed, between India and Pakistan. According to this report at Business Insider the tensions between the two countries have been ratcheting up recently:

This may prove to be the most important news story in the world today, dwarfing our own political squabbles. There are many ways and reasons for the situation to get out of hand not the least of which is the impending election in India.

Pakistan is barely a country at all. My favorite description is that it’s “a government without a country”. It has four distinct separatist movements and at least two insurgencies presently in progress. Its military and secret service have been implicated in multiple different terrorist attacks in India and Afghanistan. The entire situation is teetering on the edge of a precipice.

In a direct conflict Pakistan would not stand a chance against India and such a conflict could quickly escalate into a nuclear exchange.

China has invested too much money for Pakistan to simply fail and India knows this. Also where is the "incontrovertible evidence" that Pakistan was directly involved in the attack? India is always quick to blame Pakistan without having any solid proof. Also you should do some research of Indian atrocities against Pakistanis in Kashmir as well. Quit acting like India is some peaceful modern country.

You know Os didn't write the article right? He isn't stating that there is incontrovertible evidence, India is claiming that.

You should do some research on how pakistan was in the 1980s and 1990s. It was one of the best tourist spots in all of Asia. Obama and many other famous musicans/politicians use to vacation there. Pakistan didnt go to **** until after 9/11 and the proxy wars that followed.

I dont care how that **** hole country was back in the 80s and 90s. The fact is they harbor terrorists now and these ****ers prolly have some sort of help from the ISI.

I have nothing against the people from Pakistan. Many of my really good friends are from there. But at this point it's a failed state. Maybe they should base their constitution on something besides a 1200 year old fairy tale of a document.

Attacks/events that happen outside the Western media hegemony never happen, didn't you get the memo?

This is exactly why I hate cable news. Bloomberg isn't bad they actually pay attention to the rest of the world, but Twitter is still generally the best for me.

Anyone emotionally invested in this conflict is basically irrational and quick to anger, like OP. This is exactly why this conflict is by far the most potentially dangerous on the planet, hotheads on both sides playing a game of nuclear chicken. Those pushing for cooler heads to prevail will be labeled cowards almost immediately.

All im saying is alot of people dont realize the atrocities that India has done in its own kashmir controlled part. They have zero representation in government, dont get access to alot of the things mainland indians have access too, mass rape/sexual assaults, etc.

India was the country that sent spies into balochistan (western pakistan) to cause a rebellion to overthrow its local government.

Hard to find a good guy in all of this, but make no mistake Modi is basically the Trump of India. He is up for reelection and needs the votes, he will forego rational decisions for it. I would hardly call Pakistan a stable country, but this conflict needs cool heads like we had in the cold war. Implications of a two nuclear nations going to war would be catastrophic for the whole world, and Modi is the type of catalyst that would start something like that.

Dont forget the 2002 gujarat riots when modi was the governor or the Indian state in which he allowed protesters to kill muslim children, adults, raped hundreds women, left thousands of muslims dead, seized Muslim property and gave it to protestors, etc. Modi is one of the biggest state sponsored terrorist in the world and pretends to be this saint.

Now we have to see what India’s response is, will the fact two pilots are in Pakistani custody mean they act with caution? The next 48 hours will be the most crucial hours to come of this conflict. Where is the diplomatic pressure ? Are they all focused on the attempted coupe in Venezuela ?
