[Terror] Bomb claims victims in Moscow Airport

Never quite understood the fixation on airports. A bomber could probably kill more people at a shopping mall or a concert? Does targeting an airport somehow strike more fear in people?

Mad world.

 

Malls and concerts are next. What has happened in Israel for years is coming to your local Walmart. It's just a matter of time. Think about it. What better way for terrorists to be effective but to multiply themselves and take out individually in many, many different locations. If 1 can take out 31 than 31 can take out a thousand. Suicidal terrorists like those numbers just fine.

 

This is getting so old.

 

... except they are not.

What is stopping this from happening is location. It is not impossible to convince some young Chechnyan to bomb a Russian airport because of the on-going conflict. Same with what happened in Pakistan.

An everyday Iraqi or Afghani is not going to come over to the US for terror because it is prohibitively expensive and wasteful.

Now a Mexican or Canadian is another story

You can't really compare the terrorists in the Israel-Palestine situation to those found elsewhere. I think the two have very different objectives, not all the time, but the majority of the cases. The terror in Moscow is more about making a statement and getting attention, of both the government and the people. Hitting a mall or concert would be more of an attack on the people, so it's message would be very different. IMO.

 

Hitting an airport brings travel and the commerce based around it (which is a ton) to a halt.

Hitting a concert or a mall doesn't really stop entertainment or shopping.

 

Question -- What do Chechens, the perpetrators of the 7/7 London subway bombing, and the perpetrators of 9/11 have in common?

According to authorities, it's just "too early to tell" who might
be responsible for two suicide bombers of 'Arab appearance' massacring over 30 innocents at the Moscow airport on Monday.
(Sounds like it could be a real head-scratcher...).
