I think their primary goal was clippers win. Secondary goal was warriors cover the spread, but do not let it interfere with the main goal. They kept the game close and just let it end the way it did because they got what they wanted. Also, it it is possible the over/under had a lot to do with this. They didnt want them to go,over in ot.
While it's certainly possible there's a Donaghy situation here, I think the simplest explanation is the correct one, and that is that NBA refs are basically incompetent.
And we are back again. With 2 very questionable calls which changed the outcome of the game, in a couple of days. Yesterday Cousins got an offensive foul in the last 30 seconds of the game with the score tied which fouled him out. It was a ridiculous call. The Mavs won as a result of this. And a couple of nights ago (cannot remember which game) there was a last second shot which send the game into overtime, which should have been called a offensive goaltend (player hung on the net). I do not even mention the horrible calls during games which do not result directly to a different outcome.
I'd actually be curious if that happens again when he gets slapped in the face in a situation like that, if the ref just eats his whistle.
