im sorry giving turkeyglue, and and someone named lawerence funderburke more playing time than gerald wallace was just dumb. maybe the kings would have beat the lakers if they gave gerald wallace playing time. hell, even the kings fans yelled at rick for not playing wallace.

RA should understand we can't just play a certain way. In fact his offensive system does not always work. Against tall athletic teams, our backcuts lead to blocks and our passing results in interceptions. Our plays have become very predictable.

RA gives the ball to AB to create. Why not give TW the freedom to drive and dish in limited minutes on the court? TW is obviously talented in passing. We could use him when the offense becomes stale to set up his teammates. RA is just being stubborn.

We should never set the "system" above the team, and especially above winning.

I really hope we don't give RA a new contract.

    Your joking right?

Nobody thought he was comparable to Jordan unless they were from Portland or Portland fans.

I would like to see him play but i'm willing to wait until after the trade deadline. Players that are going to be dealt may have to play to keep or get their value up.

That's what practice is for. Throwing the ball to five youngs guys and telling them "Hey, go out there and play" isn't going to make them develop jack. You want minutes, you earn minutes. And part of that is having the freaking intelligence to learn a basketball system.

Besides, we're not paying a HoF coach to sit back and basically tank. We can get Kurt Rambis to do that anytime we want.

    These guys need COURT-TIME.

T-Will has been in the league for 1.5 years and been down to the d-league even. He is not some kind of rookie who needs to be put on a leash to earn his dues.

    Nothing beats experience.

I think his lack of playing time has more to do with people ahead of him then not getting the offense.. Once a trade happens then I'm sure he'd get pt..

Given his problems with his mentality, T-Will is EXACTLY the kind of person who should be on a leash. And what dues has he earned? By throwing a couple nice passes?

TWill is officially in the dog house - probably won't even crack the rotation when CLee is out.

So they should just settle for outside jumpers then, since attacking the basket is pointless......

There is not some magical offensive scheme that makes other teams shirter and slower, but im sure that when it is found the rockets still won't use it because RA is old and stupid and is basically lost after breakfast every day.

It's time that management & some people on this board face facts, YOU"RE HEADED TOWARDS THE LOTTERY ANYWAY! Get rid of your loyalties to Battier, Hayes and Scola they're not leading you anyhwere; IT'S TIME TO REBUILD!
Let the young guys play, trade your big long term deals & try to get some cap room & draft picks.

I don't doubt that you read that and that the book says that but I lived in that era and I watched and followed basketball very close then. I can tell you that Drexler was a great player but most thinking basketball fans that weren't trying to come up with stuff to fill their books didn't think Drexler was as good as Jordan.

Back when Drexler got into the Finals as a Trailblazer with RA in the 1991-1992 season, Jordan had not yet developed a consistent shooting touch yet and was more known for (like Drexler) for being an aggressive slasher and high flier. They were both also a TD threat night in and night out. Here are their season stats for that year:

    Jordan:
    - 30.1 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 6.1 APG, 2.3 SPG
    - 0.519 FG%, 0.27 3P%, 0.832 FT%

    Drexler:
    - 25 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 6.7 APG, 1.8 SPG
    - 0.47 FG%, 0.337 3P%, 0.794 FT%

At the time, Jordan and Drexler were very comparable, with Jordan having a slight edge as a scorer and defender and Drexler being a little better at distribution and rebounding. However, the Finals came around and Jordan took his game to a whole new level as only the truly great ones like Hakeem, Bird, and Magic can do.

You are simply saying this in hindsight. When both players were young, they were very similar. Jordan was a bit better, but Drexler was comparable, much like Ginobli was comparable to Kobe.

Clyde Drexler DOMINATED the regular NBA player, but Jordan DOMINATED OTHER HALL OF FAME PLAYERS. BIG DIFFERENCE!

A good basketball player can play in any system.
