There are other coaches that will try and let players play through rough patches. Phil jackson does it often. And the rockets have bad match ups all over the court. The roster is soft and undersized in most places defensively, they are never going to hold teams to 90 points a game. The rockets usually don't have a problem on the offensive side. Usually, trying to fix one matchup problem on this team just creates another.

Adelman will be fired before Williams gets traded.

You usually don't make it to the finals by being a horrible game coach either. He's been successful for a reason, and has lacked good star power on most of his teams.

Hit the nail on the head,
If Twill wants play then he will have to learn it as simple as that.

I agree........its no way you can stand pat with a system and not be able to modify it due to personell......After 10+ years of being in the NBA it would be stupid to think RA cannot adapt to a player of T.Wills caliber. Half the time the ROX look like they are not running plays anyways. T.Will should play and IM PISSED RA HAS NOT PLAYED HIM ESPECIALLY DURING THIS TIME WITH ALL THE GAMES WE HAVE LOST......

Funny how lots of posters have been gushing over Gerald Wallace and wishing he was playing here.

Unless it was lebron or someone on that level struggling with it, you don't change the way an entire team plays for a player hasn't proven much in the NBA ( I like him butits true ). That's not how you run a successful team.

Does Avery Johnson run a complicated scheme too? Because Williams couldn't play in NJ either.

And can we at least give Adelman more than 2 freaking months before we label him "not going to play TWill"? My God, did you know that Adelman didn't play Brooks or Landry for half a year? Did you know that Adelman barely played Kevin Martin in his rookie year?

If the guy's still not getting playing time at the beginning of next season, that's when you should be worried.

I dont think you change the entire system at all, why!!?? But you have to be basketball stupid to think every player (suprstar or not) gets the coaches whole scheme of thngs all the time. You just tweak a few things if not one and you keep it moving.....point is you dont leave a guy as explosive as T. Will sitting on the bench. BUD isnt just blowing me away with his play either. You got him so play him..........IT IS WRITTEN.

Just a rumour, calm down before you call the player stupid.

Personally, I don't see Terrence as a stupid player, like Hill seems to be.
More arrogant than stupid. When you see the court like he does, when you can see passes where other people can't, this indicates you know where are the players, where are they going, how the game flows. This anticipation to the game, intuition, implies inevitably some knowledge of the game. He actually seems to be too haughty, self-considered the best playmaker in the team, and if he wants to show this at practices by being a ball stopper, he's obviously wrong. He wants to show the coach that he's valid, being the protagonist of the game, and Adelman won't give a chance to the current 4th SG of the team if he's not a pure system player. See--> Jermaine Taylor.

Written by who? Again how do we compensate for a guy who doesnt know the system let alone proved himself in NJ? You can't just give any player who has explosiveness some playing time because they demand it. They have to prove themselves for it.

Please understand that he was in the dog house with Avery in NJ and was late to more than a few meetings and wasnt as they say a professional. Avery demands all those things and this being Avery first year as the coach im sure he felt like he had to set the tone for the year and team. Unfortunately T.Will was his example.......either way he can BALL and should play more or be traded. Thats too much talent to sitting on the bench!!

If Adelman's around next season, that's when you should be worried.

    Talent wins championships, not systems.

And we need defense, so I'll sacrifice some offensive efficiency to develop a potential star 2-way player.

First how do you really know he doesnt know the system??It is speculation....and this is his second year in the NBA and has proven he is better than BUD and more athletic than BATT......So how do you proove it then??? oh...... I know maybe in a GAME!!!Which is my point!!Let him play....You act like we are actually winning right now!! It wouldnt hurt and may even raise his stock in a potential trade......IT IS WRITTEN

And we should rely on a guy whose system won him how many rings? Never mind rings, how many playoffs have we won with him? That's not good enough? How many games this year have we won? RA is overrated and we know what the system can do with our current level of talent or lack of. T-Will is, for better or worse, the most talented player we have right now. Since we aren't winning anyways and drift farther from the playoffs with each game, why not let him play. RA is just being a huge stubborn dumbass as usual.
