    Jim Rome loves Twitter. Says its "AWEsome". Says where ELSE would you get the see direct instantaneous comments and observations from athletes you don't normally get to see?


    In the end, that comment in itself highlights problems with Twitter and the people using it :eek: Buncha gibberish thats hard to decipher. And after you decipher it, its still nonsensical.

    This thread is about Public Relations in sports. Now this topic is very polorizing because you have people that believe athletes are not role models and should be able to say whatever the heck they want because, well as Americans are have the right to free speech.

    Generally sports fans are understanding and dont blow tweets and statments athletes make out of proportion. However, the media can take one small statement that an athlete makes "like referring to a gas chamber" or "Tyson punching Nancy Grace." And make it look like they were attending a Nazi ralley while abusing women at the same time.

    What Terrence has going for him now is that his status is virtually irrelevant to ESPN and fans outside of Clutchfans.net. If he had more eyes in the media paying attention to what he was doing there would be a S*&% storm between him and the Rockets management.

    I started this thread to bring awareness to fans of the Rockets and TWill that this tweeting free will obsession could blow up in his face in due time and its in his best interest from a public relations standpoint to find different ways to share his thoughts among friends and family.

    Point is the guy has no trade value..We traded a first round pick for him and he is rotting on the bench, right now we couldn't trade him for a bag of pretzels.

    He deserves to be playing, he can't do worse than Battier and Bud.

    I understand his frustration and agree with his tweet, but you have to keep that in house.

    Where is the vet/coaching leadership to help channel the frustration of these young guys in hard times? Is anyone talking to AB and TWill? They need a private outlet to vent or stuff will blow up.

    I just don't see coach giving TWill meaningful minutes, unless a trade clears the way. I think it's defineitly time to play others more minutes, what can it hurt?

    This team needs some life injected into it, I think TWill and 2Pat can bring it on both ends. It's time IMO.
