Who would you rather have?

  1. Williams

    52.4%
  2. Randolph

  3. Neither. We should have kept our pick.

    Williams.

This was really all about Morey not wanting the Knicks to get Carmelo.

I think we could still end up landing them both.

Randolph could be had by offering NY another pick so they too can try to get back into the melo race

Thabeet could likely be had using a TE to help MEM free up $ they will have to pay Gasol

Mayo will be expensive to get though. They are going to want talent back for him and I dont think we have anything they would want in return for what they are giving up

I wouldnt matter to us where Carmelo goes as long as he goes out of the west. I understand that if Melo went to NY then the pick we got from them becomes less valuable. But we gain nothing by helping NJ get Melo with the protected pick that NY gave us. It may have landed us Terrance Williams but in the end it helped NJ get who they wanted.

Now I hope Morey goes back and plays NY and NY against eachother by giving NY our other pick for Anthony Randolph

Well at pf we have Scola/Hill/Patterson. Not exactly a position of need either :p

As to the poll Williams by a mile. We need a swingman with upside than a tweener with upside.

I would like to get Randolph but only after or as part of another major trade where we ship away most of our glut at PF. As the roster is right now I don't think it's the best settig for him, especially since he could find an exagerated offer for an unproven free agent next summer, making himself a Gerald Green type experiment for the Rockets.

We're getting both. Our 2012 pick for Williams and Knicks 2012 pick for Anthony.

I have my money on this happening. The Rockets will WIN twice by essentially playing the Nets and Knicks against eachother in the Melo running. We would come out like bandits again by landing 2 recent lottery players that now have NBA experience.

AR is going into restricted free agency. Any stupid team could try to force us to resign him for way too much.

TWill is still on his rookie deal for reasonable money and both have all-star potential.

    TWill wins this one.

you are nuts if you think either of them will ever sniff an all-star game

^ This would be a very smart move by Morey because neither of the picks could be higher than 15 for us (based on the conditions) and both Anthony Randolph(#14, 2008) and Terrance Williams (#11, 2009) are recent lottery selections.

Then try to get Thabeet (#2, 2009)

This is very smart thinking if this is the new thinking process of our team. It is a very under the table way to get high prospect/potential lottery level talent while staying competitive. Low risk moves for players with unique skill sets that could be high reward.

    really?

AR has ridiculous potential and that why he's coveted by teams including the Rockets.

Williams can take over games and has all the tools to be an all-star. He's only 23. They have the ability to be a lot more than role players.

Nothing wrong with picking up undeveloped players with good measurables and pedigree. We have a staff here that can help these guys blossom.

coveted? is that why he has already been kicked to the curb by 2 of the crappiest franchises in the NBA? Both guys can be role players, and if either were here, I would want them sitting at the end of the bench.

Golden state didn't kick AR to the curb?

They traded him in a package to get David Lee. You are also talking about two "crappy" teams that are crappy for a reason.

    1)Poor coaching and player management.

2)ZERO veteran leadership in the locker room.

    3)Moronic GM's.

Seems like a perfect way to steal under performing talent.

I'd rather have kept the pick.

Me, I ain't feeling this season, so in the short term it will give us a boost, but it feels like we will regret with less then 2 years, when some stud is available and is snatched up with our pick. We have youth in the front court at the PF/C position but let's be honest, neither Williams or Budinger will probably be the best starting SF and Lee would be a role player if we had to move him to start at the SG position as well.

But like I said, I'm just not feeling this season.

The pick is lotto protected. We still have New York's 2012 pick so we won't be missing out on the 1st round at all.

you might be happy when you think it in this way that we traded our low first round pick (one of #15 to #30) for a higher first round pick (#11).

we have the picks to get both guys but when it comes down to it, i still dont feel like this answers our teams problems. I would love to see them on the team but somebody with a little more star power is what im waiting for.

I would even settle for another 2nd tier superstar, similar to what K.Mart is, to pair with K.Mart ..........IT IS WRITTEN.
