I agree whole heartedly now with this trade. He replaces Battier like he should then this is perfect. SF yes. Another SG with Courtny Lee, Kevin Martin already? No.

He'll compete with Budinger for that backup SF spot. Don't expect him to be an immediate rotation player, though. You may be disappointed.

He looks to be a good all-around player, potentially a nice two-way player, which could make him a good replacement for Battier next year. I also like that he's a playmaker. We need more of those.

I'm not for the record saying T. Williams is a godsend and future superstar...but his game is nice. It is a rare set of skills at the SG/SF position at a very young age....who has already shown he can put it together for spurts. In other words it isn't just athletic potential...he has dominated actual games before.

People get on her and cream about Hill throwing down two alley-oops and two blocks with a couple of rebs in his first 4 minutes in the game even though he disappears for the next 8.

This guy has actually but together good MONTHS of play....

And I don't care if it is the D-League....name another player who ever put up a triple double average over 5 games? And there are plenty of productive guys who spent a lot more time down there....

Pretty much, the big question is if this is really the case then what do you we do with Yao?

I mean it seems like it to me. Look at our targets, no longer the veteran players like Iggy, Artest, Martin. It's now about the Randolphs, Mayo's, Mayo's Thabeet's.

Well I can see how he would be a greater defender at SG definately for the bigger ones and then a good all around player at SF albeit more well rounded but short for that position. He does upgrade over JT thats for sure. Maybe even Budinger because he can play defense. I guess I got what i asked for. A all around player. So gonna see how he pans out before I start to my whining practices.

Yao is gone next year unless he signs for a cheap contract, which won't happen because his agents will want him to sign for more. I highly doubt the Rockets would offer him more than 7 million a year.

I guess we can be like Portland, pray we have a full team of players wanting extra minutes to play.

One thing that has me confused is why did we just give up a 1st rounder for an athletic SF when we just traded an athletic SF away (Ariza) to shave salary. Anyone care to address that.

Because we get lost and overhype players.

If a player was that gifted, teams wouldn't send them to the d-league, see Cousins.

What makes it worse is his attitude.....you think Rick is going to take that? Another player who is going to ride the pine if his attitude doesn't get resolved.

They're disappointed in Bud? In SL they wanted him running the PnR, a pseudo point forward role, but he can't even shoot now.

Or they're going young and looking to offload Battier?

i dont think this trade was done with the intention of having him produce right away. there may not even be a place for him in the rotation right now (unless he beats out bud for minutes).

this trade was done because trading a future (probably low) first rounder for a second year lotto pick is a good move.

classic morey. stockpile assets and work the rest out later.

I think it's safe to say he takes Budinger's spot immediately...

I doubt it. Adelman has a long leash with Budinger. I could even see the Rockets assigning him to RGV.

No need to get excited about a guy who will never get playing time is what you are saying? You might be right on Adelman.

I don't know.. Budinger's long leash had a lot to do with the fact that there was nobody to replace him. Now, you've got a young, athletic SG/SF that brings a lot more to the table than Budinger does.. someone that can actually create shots for himself and others.

I just can't see how you don't sit Budinger.

An assignment to RGV would only make sense to me if it was done so that he could learn the offense in game situations. As soon as he gets the hang of it, I gotta believe he's going into the rotation.

i'd like to believe williams' upside is much greater than ariza's, plus it's a cheaper deal.

You know the team is in bad shape when everyone gets excited about a D-league player...
