Williams for a lottery protected 1st is about as good a deal as you can get. Assuming it is either lottery protected forever or NJ gets a 2nd if it is lottery.

They are STARs because they can PLAY in the 4th. Martin = disappearing act .. YAO = Never healthy ... AB = to small to consistently win the game for us

I want to be able to watch the forth when we are down and be able to say ... give the ball to "insert proven star here"!!!!

I have reservations with that news. When a team gives up on a 2nd year lottery player and only want a lottery protected pick in return. You've got to ask why?

Our defense has gotten better on the wing. We could have Twill,Clee and Battier at the same time. I'm comfortable with that.

I remember him before the draft. No real character concerns other than he was definitely an individual and sort of an odd-bird. But his game doesn't scream diva, few players have ever been so effecient at doing so many different things on the court as he was in college....except scoring consistently.

BTW Aaron Brooks and him grew up near each other and presumably have a relationship....that will be helpful....

Because Avery Johnson is a hyper-controlling inflexible ass that doesn't know how to deal with personalities outside of 'yes' men? And they want Melo...and their owner is all about making splashes at this point....not trying to develop a versatile SG/SF that probably won't ever be exactly a superstar.

To make room for Terrence Williams' arrival in three-way w/Lakers and Nets, Houston to deal Jermaine Taylor to SAC for future second-rounder

I think this will be a good deal if it is the Knicks pick we are trading. Obviously...SOMEONE will come to NYK. It was a good move by Morey betting on their failure with a injury prone Amare, but Amare has beasted and i'm sorry to say Melo, CP3...one of those guys will go there, if not both.

Nets fan don't like the deal, that tells me everything I need to know. Fans of a team usually know more about the player than anyone else. They watch the team constantly and know their players weaknesses and strengths.

Twill seems like a good prospect and I believe that is what the team should be going after right now.

And if it's the 2012 Knicks pick, it's even better. With Melo joining an already good Knicks team this summer, the 2012 Knicks pick would be worseless...

Confirming NJ-LA-Hou trade, w/ additional note: That 2012 pick from Hou is Rockets' own, not the Knicks'. So NY not helping Nets get Melo

    http://twitter.com/HowardBeckNYT

feigan said there was lotto protection on the pick i think the only way this happens is if it was the Rockets own pick since the Knicks pick itself has lotto protection to the Rockets.

We are lucky we got anything for JT. Not saying he was rubbish but he didn't have a place on the team, and is never going to be a guy who gets significant minutes in the league. Legit NBA guy maybe, but you can find a million JT's floating around....at least a 2nd round pick gives you a chance to strike gold.

I liken this move to buying a $5 scratch off and winning back $5....we will reinvest it in another $5 scratch off in June.
