Terrence Williams [I believe he will be a Rocket by the end of the month]

Aw.. so does this mean we're not getting Anthony Randolph?
I guess.. Oh well.

 

Was a bit of a head-scratcher for me too at first, but then to my surprise I saw that he was the 11th pick just last year. Although I don't really like his style(bit of a ballhog), I see this as simply a buy low sell high/low risk high reward kind of deal. The 2012 pick we are sending out will be lottery-protected, so no biggie. And Jermaine Taylor was clearly not a good fit(almost cut for Dampier).

On the other hand, the reaction coming out of NJ fans seem to be disappointment that their GM panicked and "sold low" in a desperate move to gather more draft picks to go after Carmelo.

All in all, it looks like another move by Morey where he is trying to be at the right place at the right time, taking advantage of extra-ordinary circumstances. See: Scola trade, NY trade, Lowry trade(Jameer Nelson injury) etc.

 

I don't like this move. I mean come on, the last time we traded for someone's unwanted first round pick we ended up with Jordan Hill. Look how that ended for us. :grin:

 

I hope not. Randolph is a match up problem waiting to happen. He will grow to be a difference maker

 

Are you crazy or just dont actually watch the games...J-Hill is a servicable player with a solid skill set. He turned in another solid game tonight against SAC.

Dawson and Sikma have done wonders with this kid. Give him some more time to grow.

 

if williams can keep his attitude in check, he can be very valuable to the rockets. he can score, rebound, and pass for a shoot guard/small forward. the rocket do need a player with a little attitude.

if he don't stay humble, he can be own own personal version of JR Rider. his driving kick out pass to kevin martin will easily help us though. he can also be used whenever chase goes through yet another slump.

I was being disingenuous my friend. Hill has worked out well for us thus far, and I'm excited about twill. Hence the grin at the end.

 

Maybe the Knicks wouldn't give us Randolf for our 1st so we gave New Jersey a 1st so now the Knicks will have to give us Randolf if they still want a shot at Carmelo.

 

He must not have seen your little green smiley face at the end. :grin:

 

I really liked him coming out of Louisville, but he's been disappointing. I don't know how much of that is on him and how much is just the trainwreck of the 12-70 Nets. Lee looked like he regressed last year too, but he's come along now.

The potential for Williams is still there. I hope he explodes here. He certainly seems excited.

Terrence Williams was demoted to the D-League as punishment. Not a good sign. On top of that, teamates and coaches last year said he was severely depressed due to the amount of losing. Another not so good sign. This guy needs to contribute immediately to show that he was nothing more than a player traded along with draft picks.

 

Not expecting much at all from him. Just seems like another Jermaine Taylor.

 

Eager to see him on-court with our second unit.

Lowry, Lee, Williams, and Hill will be a hell of an athletic, physical bunch of go-getters.

Don't forget the anchor, literally, of Miller.
