I like both, but I think DMo will eventually develop into the better fit with Dwight in the front court.

I like T-Jones for the starting spot barring any more trades. For all the talk about D-Mo being a stretch 4, he only shot 3% better from behind the arc. Jones has tons of defensive potential (he had a 5 and a 6 block game towards the end of last season), and he is a much better rebounder. D-Mo is better on the block on the offensive end, but starting next to Dwight he won't get may opportunities to operate in the low post.

Our primary offense with the 2nd unit next year:

Beverly/Jones PnR up top with Garcia set up for the corner 3.

Bev and Jones need to become best buds this summer.

My guess is at least one, maybe both, of these guys will be gone before the season. Not that they suck, but they have trade value, which Morey may convert into a proven player now that the Rockets are in "win now" mode.

D Mo likes to camp out on the three point line too much, and I'm more of a fan for our big guys to be in and around the paint. Of course, the Rockets enjoy "stretch" 4's

Good point! We need a stretch four but defensively T Jones is a better fit due to his athleticism. T Jones is also a better shooter than y'all think. He did decent in the D League shooting and his defense has always been better. We will see though. Hard to see their improvement without seeing them play. But se can at least see T Jones's development in Summer League.

If Morey can swap Asik for a legit power forward, he's going to do it. Then I expect Lin to be traded for cap and depth.

Feigan seems to disagree with you.

    http://houston.cbslocal.com/2013/07/06/rockets-successful-complete-overhaul-is-impressive/

From everything we are hearing, they aren't moving Asik just for roster balance. If they move him, its going to be for a CLEAR upgrade... not just a starting caliber PF.... and they seem to love Jeremy Lin and shouldn't be looking to move him for just cap space right now.... Cap space for what "player" would that be??... Calderon is already locked up, Jennings (yuck) is likely to get matched, Collison is.... meh... not a starter.

I think the fruitful thing to do is for the Rockets to hold pat for now, and keep their options open in the future to trade for a high caliber near all-star or all-star player when that player comes around.

The Rockets will have Asik, Lin, multiple 1st round picks, and whatever value D-Mo, Jones, Beverley, & Smith create for Morey this year that could be a haul on the trade market in a few months... Lets wait it out and see what happens the next few months going into the training camp, and you NEVER KNOW who could wind up on the trade market..... Right now there doesn't seem to be too much.

Well, I hope Lin shoots thousands of 3's in the offseason then, and works on those shaky handles. Also kind of scary that our success may hinge on whether Dmo and TJ can become starter quality.

D-Mo, he has to blossom this season. If he was ever going to show up, it has to be this season. Hopefully Terrence Jones will have a coming out party this season as well.

I have to disagree with a lot of you, and say D-Mo is the clearly better fit in the starting lineup. To be honest, I think D-Mo can be a rich man's Scola, which is the perfect fit next to Dwight. Considering Dwight's strengths are Scola's weaknesses, as well as D-Mo's.

D-Mo possesses a lot of the same attributes as Scola, but at seven feet. I mean look at it, in terms of weaknesses neither of them are strong defenders, nor rebounders. However both play with great intensity, both are great at posting up and both are more than capable at knocking down the mid range jump-shot (although Scola's mid-range is better).

As to why I think D-Mo can be a rich man's Scola are due to his physical attributes, those attributes being that he's a legit 7'0, he's faster at running in the open court and I believe he's a better overall passer. Although non of these are a knock on Scola, one of my favorite Rockets of all time.

I think D-Mo gets the nod before Jones.

That being said, I can see Parsons starting at the 4.

Imma go with T.Jones. Dude is a better defender than D-Mo. Offensively they are about the same. D-Mo edges T-Jones out slightly on the offensive end.

They both have to beat out DH12 first. I know what Morey said, but McHale may decide to start Asik at C and DH12 at PF if he doesn't like what TJones or DMo brings in training camp. McHale will try to stick to the plan, but he is going to do whatever he things will win him the most games first, period.
