My guess is the Rockets will move one of them out in a deal to get a 3rd stars, if that will be available, assuming that's a 10 mil class star.

I don't see the Rockets will be willing to pay both in that range for that length of contracts.

If your team will start Dmo and TJ for the next 3-4 years both, you are at best the 5-8 seeds at the west.

TJ and Faried are far from the same players. Athletic players that understand the game are the ones that are rare. You shouldn't get that confused with all the athletic players in the league bouncing from team to team and struggling to stay in the league.

As for KJ that someone mentioned above, my guess is the Rockets will be willing to offer him a 2-3 years deal similar to a late first round rookie money.

I seriously doubt anyone will give him anything close to a mid level money.

Potential is one thing, but giving out a contract is another thing.

I would say that his future contract probably will be similar than what Troy Daniels got last summer.

Actually they are very similar, both are guys that don't really have offensive moves that just rely on energy and effort to get points. In your mind, what's the big difference between Jones and Faried?

Jones is starting to put some offensive game together. Faried looks to have hit his ceiling.

Since we are on the future contracts, my prediction for next season as of now :

    - Prig is gone, most likely through trade.
    - Terry is gone.
    - Papa is gone, don't see any reason Morey will pick up his 5 mil option.
    - Dorsey will be gone by training camp, unless through a trade, otherwise he will be the easy cut in camp.

    - TJ / Dmo, one of them will be gone through trade before the season started.

    - Josh / Brewer, at least one of them will be gone, will be surprised to see both gone, but if I have to pick one to stay, I pick Brewer.

    - Capela will get some minutes that Dorsey had this season (which not that much).

    - Nick will get most of Terry's minute.

    - Whether Bev will stay of not, it depends on whether Morey will get a PG in the 10 mil class. If he can get one, there is a chance Bev will be gone, but I bet Morey will not replace Bev with any rookie PG as starter nor replacing him with PGs like Lin, Collinson, or whoever those scrubs.

I think Prig is gone and Dorsey is gone. Bev needs to be replaced. Build around Howard,Harden,Ariza,Brewer,Smith,Bev(Backup pg,) Jones, DMO. Needs one more quality offensive whiz in the back court. Love this team for next year.

    Expecting next year's lineup :

    Dwight / Capela
TJ OR DMo / free agent backup big or get one through trade
    Ariza / Brewer
Harden / Brewer / rookie from NOH pick / KJ if resign
Bev / Nick (if we get a 10 mils PG, then 3rd star / Bev or Nick)

actually jones has a way better skillset than faried. contrary to your belief jones does have a good touch around the basket with the ability to handle the ball. faried is soley an energy player

So Jones is an energy player with decent touch around the rim who can dribble a bit. Still a very similar player. Not identical obviously, but similar.

i don't consider them that similar as both of their games are played differently but that's my view.

Okay, well then how do they play differently? How do you believe that Jones uses athleticism, energy, and hustle differently than Faried? That's how both of them score most of their points and get most of their rebounds.

I'm just trying to understand your point of view.

At least you're not comparing him to Thomas Robinson anymore.

It's the same comparison really. Thomas Robinson is the same style player as Jones and Faried, he's just not as good.

I see aggressive, athletic types as having a much higher headroom to develop as opposed to un-athletic, passive types personally and would much, MUCH rather have someone like Faried than someone like D-Mo personally. it all depends on D-Mo though. He HAS TO BECOME much more aggressive and a MUCH BETTER rebounder to stand a chance provided T-Jones can show his fluke injuries are behind him. D-Mo has turned from scrub to legitimate starter, but I still don't see the same potential you an others see from him. I still see a clumsy big man with zero explosion that plays far smaller (mentally) than his size and gets pushed around way too much.

Comparing styles is useless when one provides much more impact

I completely disagree. I take the highly skilled player over the athletic effort player every day of the week. Both can provide good things for teams, but skills are less common than athleticism and the skill lasts a lot longer.

Well sure Faried provides much more impact now, but I think Jones next year could be about where Faried is.
