Betting this guy is the next Landry on steroids!!! The guy who can score, rebound, shot block, is tall enough to compete with any other power forward while doing it. Pretty big deal since he also looks quick enough to guard any power forward too. I think one of these guys is a homerun. Between Donuts, Lamb and Jones there could be something there.
coach, here's some advice. why do you actually see these guys play in a full regular season before you start making your looney comparisons. nothing is wrong with comparisons, but you are comparing players that haven't played 1 second in a real NBA game to NBA superstars. do you have a Dan Langhi jersey? I bet you thought he was Larry Bird or Dirk or Jerry West.
Jones already has the height and weight to play successfully at center. All he has to do is turn that baby fat into muscle. After two good seasons, he will be ready. If not before.
ok judge me on my user name, but jus so you know. Im an adult whose been to the Military also got my degree while i was in military and i run a Grocers Supply Warehouse (produce to be exact) so all in all dont judge a book by its cover. and who are you to say somethign about a user name when your name has BAD in it which describe every post from you, and also that was a horrible comeback, like so 4th grade im outta here, I WILL NEVER READ ON BADLEE THREAD AGAIN
Thank you for your service. Congratulations on the business. Repped. Now, as far as me upsetting you for referring to you by your moniker, get over it. It's Clutchfans, duhhhh.(now thats some 3rd grade to go with that 4th grade stuff from earlier:grin:)
I think coach is crazy and posts waaayyyy too much. BUT, I am with him on Terrence Jones. I love the guy as a future all star player. Not sure if that is primarily playing small forward or power forward. Marcus Morris is Terrence Jones lite right now. I sincerely hope he gets big minutes this year. I really enjoy watching him play. I love Chandler, but I think I live Terrence Jones as a small forward even more than "The Bang." The face up game+Athletic ability+ball handling when you consider a 20 year old of that physical stature is an amazing prospect to get @ 18.
I feel that Jones would have problems defending SF in the league early on. iI think he should focus mainly at playing PF/C. Am i crazy for thinking that in a few years he could be better utilized at the center position because of his size and speed? I feel he would better served as the back-up to Asik now. More so than Smith or Harrellson.
Coach.... If you watch some of the scouting videos out there on Jones, they show that he has plenty of ability to guard his man on the perimeter. I would say he probably is significantly better at guarding small forwards right now than says Mooch Morris. Guy has length, strength and active hands. He may end up being a better Power forward because of his ability to face up and take over power forwards to the rim. Not sure where he will play but I have a feeling he will be an all star.
If all you needed was height and weight to become the next D. Howard, then Shawn Bradley could've been a lesser Howard, Darko could've been a lesser Howard, Kwame Brown could've been a lesser Howard, and the list goes on and on. There's more to being a good center than just being big. As much as you may not want to admit it, T.Jones looks like his best position will end up being the 4, not the 5.
I see upside as David West / Carlos Boozer with better defense. Which is completely different than Dwight Howard.
Yeah I think he could end up being a Josh Smith type of player with hopefully a better shot...which is also completely different than Dwight Howard
I have defended Jones since almost everybody was hating on him from day one.I was happy as hell when we drafted him and i think he will be the best steal of the draft but i always pictured him as more of a three and a four than a four and a five.
