Doesn't Morey's fetish for 6'9 forwards have a little to do with them playing center as well?

Name one center in his class that he can't guard.

This really was one of the worst comparisons ever.

Please just let this thread die.

I haven't seen much of him but he strikes me as more of Lamar Odom type player. Especially with the way he was quietly being effective during the SL.

He's got the skills of Odom, but he plays a little bigger in my opinion. He could play the three too though. With our current roster, who's our best backup C. I think you give Terrence the nod. They've already said that it look like Patterson will start at 4. Pre-season can't get here soon enough.

If he can play like Odom at 250+, he will perfect at the 5. I think he will be better.

    Interesting thoughts- Lets compare-

    True 7 foot Centers-
At this point, Terrence Jones could completely destroy Meyers Leonard, Fab Melo, and Tyler Zeller on the boards, and in many other ways. (The Three TALLEST players in the draft)

    Other big men-

    Project/High Upside-
Drummond, Henson, and Anthony Davis will probably end up being better paint protectors in a few years. Right now, he should be able to compete with them in the paint. You can throw Royce White in this bunch, but I would say his skillset will probably keep him out of the paint in the NBA a whole bunch.

College Studs who might have an edge NOW-
Andrew Nicholson, Festus Ezeli, Jared Sullinger, and Thomas Robinson could compete in the paint right now, and maybe overproduce head to head at least on the boards, and controlling the paint. Sullinger can rebound head and shoulders better than anyone else in this years draft.

    Euro Bigs-

Jonas Valanciunas, Donatas Motiejunas are in last years draft class, but will be rookies this year as well. I would say Jones will probably produce similar numbers in the paint defensively/rebounding, Blocked Shots etc. and block as many shots. Yes, D-Mo is not a Center, but he's going to end up in the paint alot in his career. Whether you list his as a forward or center is obsolete. I like Valanciunas but if you have watched him in competitive action you would know that he's still miles behind someone like Jones in skill level.

-Right now, Id say Terrence Jones can compete on par with pretty much all of these guys in his class in the paint. The good news is thats not all he can do. He's also versatile as hell on WHO he can defend. On offense he can handle the rock, pass, and much much more. If you scouted him and watched any Ketucky games this year you will know that in the painted area he's right on par if not better than most of them AT THIS POINT.

What a difference a little hussle and heart makes. As far as skills and bodytype, they are very similar players.

Yea! He is playing like it! When he gets the ball under the rim, he dunks it in! (unlike 2 soft, i mean 2 Pat!)

No knee jerk. He just needs to keep playing. As you can see he plays okay against good competition.;)

Doesn't matter. For a rookie to come in and play the way he did against the showtime Lakers is impressive.

I was impressed by Jones, I hope he is the future 4 for this team.

With Asik he doesn't need to be a 5.

Yea he did. That was the time the ball got stuck between the rim and the board. TJones came from behind and blocked it.

He's got a lot of promise, that's for sure. Needs meaningful PT.
